So, the publishers are aware of the issue, and looking into it, but there's no definite answers available as of now.
I suspect some foul play may actually be happening between the two... Just not sure on whose side. Maybe the publishers are withholding funding, so the developers are stalling? And maybe it's the other way around... Who knows... Strange regardless.
Well the rep from PDX doing damage control on discord said that they reached out yesterday, so give it until the business week starts up again to check for a response.

Still I am sympathetic in one regards, this game did not get enough sales to fund a team in active development. So the idea of trying to replicate a long supported game like Rim World or Dont Starve was beyond their resources.
How many games release in half-finished state, then they see low sales and drop it?
