1. Constancy Automatic: it's an all around decent gun with great damage at close and long range, but the accuracy at extreme ranges is lacking considerably. Recoil is a bit intense too, so Shock Absorber is almost a must. Takes some getting used to. Feedback Loop is my favorite perk, as it enhances all damage after shooting a destructable or enemy unit.
2. Fourpounder: great heavy pistol that uses large ammo. Focus Fire perk is underrated and hardly used in PvP, but when used with Lightning Strike it can be a one-shot kill weapon pretty handily. Toxic Haze is hilarious as always, especially if you use it in conjunction with another ballistics weapon with hitscan like a LIMP-10 or Tribunal - you can proc the gas cloud with a standard bullet to explode!
3. Heritage Gun: one of my favorite shotguns due to it's flexibility. Becomes an accurate long range carbine as a toggle feature. Really fun with the Inferno perk, as it can one-two punch anything in a firey explosion. Only drawback I can foresee is the lack of damage in a pinch, as in most PvP encounters it's preferred to pump out alot of damage in a small instance of time.
4. LIMP-10: the most commonly seen weapons in the game, and thankfully so. Oddly enough, despite the Tribunal being fewer in clip size and using the same ammo, the LIMP-10 has a larger capacity, is just as accurate when conservatively fired, and has better range. It's totally possible to snipe enemies with this sub-machine gun. Seems a bit too overpowered compared to other small-caliber options. Vampire allows the player to roam the map freely without worrying about being near that Fiz-Pop Station. Suppressor is great for stealth runs, but falls short in most PvP encounters as you're probably going to want Snare.
5. MG-1 Pepper Mill: I really gave this weapon a shot, but as it stands it's really clumsy to use. The large clip and great damage seems like a good starting point, but it feels so awkward to use at long or extreme ranges due to the ironsights being a massive circle. I had alot of trouble landing my headshots to get off the Explosive Decapitation perk, arguably one of my favorite upgrades to get for it. Snare is an obvious pick for PvP, but damage and sustained presence seems weaker when compared to the Strelak Verso. Shame, because conceptually I really like this gun.
6. PT-6 Spiker: extremely underrated gun that more players should use for both PvE and PvP. Ammo may be scarce, but this really just requires the player to be aware of all possible nail locations - this can take some getting used to, but once you do it's a joy to use. In PvP, Echolocation allows for all Aethered Colt's to be spotted; the affect radius is very generously large too. Wait For It is just hilarious, converting a once nail gun into a silent timed sticky grenade launcher. I've seen some use for Lights Out to cover security blockages, as some Julianna's in PvP "read" the map by seeing which turrets or cameras were hacked to get a glimpse of where Colt went - using Lights Out allows Colt to truly sneak around without permanently reverting security features to inform Julianna where he was. Again, very underrated tool. Be mindful though: it has a limited range and can only really be used in small to medium distances.
7. Rapier: a run without a Rapier is just not as fun. More Bang converts the weapon into a hitscan rocket launcher, enhancing it's damage and damage-radius. A no-brainer, especially given how plentiful the ammo is in every map. All around great weapon for close, medium, long and extreme ranges. With Lightning Strike, you can headshot nearly any enemy in the game for a one-shot kill, excluding Wenjie Evans in Updaam (she has alot of health) and some Julianna builds using Turtle Shell.
8. Sepulchra Breteira: I'm not a huge fan of this sniper rifle. It may seem really strong on paper: with Coiled Snake and Lightning Strike, alongside Glass Cannon and a Havok proc, it can single-handedly produce the largest amount of burst damage at extreme ranges. So, why is it so unreliable? Low rate of fire, long reloads, limited clip size, enormous presence on your screen (seriously, try leaning with this weapon - can't see shi* captain). When compared to what the Fourpounder and Rapier can do, the Sepulchra just doesn't make up for it. Also, when using Coiled Snake, the player charging the sniper rifle emits a massive identifiable white shimmer from the scope, even when Aethered. Use caution.
9. Strelak 50-50: a staple on most builds, given the novelty of being an auto-shotgun. Snare and Mind Leech have been a tale as old as time for this shotgun, and makes most PvP encounters pretty boring. Don't get me wrong, it's strong, but for general use outside of PvP it can seem wasteful given that each individual shot consumes two shotgun shells - a resource already limited with a 20 round reserve and 30 clip capacity by default. Big Box and/ or Deep Pockets seems pretty enticing with this gun, given this drawback. It's a great gun that can be gained early from Charlie regardless of your loop stress.
10. Strelak Verso: hard to argue against this one. It hits extremely hard. In the SMG form, it fires a reliable four-round burst that's accurate and will proc Explosive Decapitation if you aim at the lower neck area, or proc Snare (the most common perk you'll notice in PvP). Unlike the Strelak 50-50, it feels less bad to run low on ammo with the Verso, given that small-caliber ammo is just so plentiful in this game. Lets also consider that in dual-weild mode, using certain character trinkets can enhance the damage even further with Pistolero. An extremely reliable weapon with Snare and Mind Leech in PvP, allowing for short, medium and long range kills.
11. Tribunal: compared to other small-caliber ammo options like the LIMP-10 and Strelak Verso, the Tribunal pistol just isn't there. Low damage, low rate of fire, low clip capacity, and worst of all terrible range - you can not hit anything past medium range. It's odd - in most immersive sims like Deus Ex and even Dishonored, I've been so used to pistols being the most flexible, hard-hitting weapons in late game. Can't say the same here. Shame, because Golden Shot and Streaker seem really fun to use.
12. Vorpat Trencher: don't overlook this shotgun option. While the Strelak 50-50 shines in automatic function and the Heritage Gun provides flexibility, the Vorpat Trencher gives raw damage. As the only pump shotgun in the game, each pellet hits extremely hard - surprisingly, even at long ranges. I've used this weapon with Choke Point, which lowered the pellet spread of the shotgun shells, and managed to kill enemies with the same success as a Rapier, almost converting a shotgun to a carbine. It's really fun to use in PvE, but for PvP you're going to want something with more consistency and Snare.
That is exactly what I use, I bet we have the same trinkets too.
