Driver is too NEW?

I get an error popup whenever I try to launch the game that says "AMD driver version 22.Q2 detected. The game supports driver version 21.9.1 and newer. Playing without the recommended driver can affect performance. Please install the latest driver at https://www.amd.com/en/support". I find it both funny and insanely frustrating that I have the newest driver and it won't let me launch the game because it is too new, yet they claim newer drivers are supported. The Irony

You haven't mentioned what GPU, driver and OS version you use.

I played the game yesterday with a 5700 XT, driver 22.6.1, W11 21H2.

Worked fine.

EDIT: You mentioned 22.Q2. You're using Pro Drivers?

I guess they hard coded "21.9.1" as a minimum number base line and they're checking for newer versions? That would be quite bad if true.

What's going to happen if AMD changes driver naming schemes? Oof.

Dunno what to tell you. The game also runs on Linux and there there isn't any proper AMD driver scheme or anything, it's run through Proton/VKD3D.

Oh well.

guys i have the fix, just buy a 3070 and the game will run no problem
in all seriousness though that is what I did because it was time to upgrade anyway and wow I cant believe it but I can finally play again

I guess if you have Adrenalin Pro it won't work because it slots QX into the version number, which someone mentioned above. If you download the standard Adrenalin drivers (not pro) then it boots fine.

I just played the game with drivers 23.12.1 on 5700 XT on Windows 11 23H2.
I also played the game on Linux just fine, lol.
