That was my last straw after losing over an hour of my progress, again.
I hope this helps.
You can minimize the crashes by not using the in game Vsync but that may as well be a placebo judging by user reports. Like i said, even if you do manage to avoid them. You're still bound to run into soft locks.
If you use RTSS to examine the game's memory usage, you'll see that it doesn't matter what your settings are -- the memory usage fills up FAST and within an hour is usually around 24GB. So don't try to play two missions in a row without restarting, or you risk losing potentially around an hour of progress since the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game doesn't support saving during missions.
And don't let anyone give you grief about your hardware or settings either, this is just frustrating as ♥♥♥♥. It's been a year since the game launched and this is STILL an issue -- Arkane has neither fixed the memory leak problem, nor have they added the ability to save during missions. Any apologists for a game with these issues is an idiot, so just disregard them.
Suuuuch a disappointment. And even if there wasn't a memory leak, WHY in god's name are saves not allowed? The amount of times I've enountered invisible walls that shift can't get you over, accidentally fallen into water, exploded a mine or destroyed a key piece of equipment accidentally, even with infinite reprises, you STILL feel like you're walking on eggshells during parts of the games -- especially the freakin' fia section. I could NOT for the life of me figure out what arbitrary actions would cause her to destroy the entire island. I just kept retrying the mission as stealthily as possible and eventually it worked.
It really does take the fun out of it when you can also lose 30 minutes of progress from accidentally picking up a dynamite instead of the ammo next to it, because if you have auto-equip enabled and forget -- boom, you're either dead, or hopes of a stealth-based goal being met are out the window.
That's just... not fun. Not allowing saving doesn't make the game more difficult, it just makes it more stressful. And less enjoyable to play.
It´s a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ garbage, i play about 5 minutes and it crashes...this game is just a waste of money on pc, i´m uninstalling
