(SPOILERS!) Just finished the game. Got a few questions (SPOILERS!)

Did I miss alot of information or does the game just not give you enough explanation?

1. Why did they start the loop in the first place? Just to have fun? But how can repeating the same day over and over be fun? Why did they think that was a good idea? Only a few people remember their last day(s) right? So most people are going to be doing the same thing over and over and depending on what thing is it can be a really bad day.
I mean we see a few people straight up kill themselves at the beginning of the day! Did the visionaries think that they are going to remember what they did when they wake up so they could continue having new experiences and stuff? Thats why some call it first day? But there is no first, second or last if it keeps repeating exactly the same.

2. Why did our Colt lose his memory at the beginning?

3. Why does Colt keep coming back to the Loop as Julianna says bunch of times? Why does he love the place?

4. And why ending the loop wasnt a good idea? Why did Julianna want us to stop trying to end the loop so bad?

The ending was just bad in my opinion. What happened to Julianna? What happens now that the loop is over? Nothing? seriously you are going to show us nothing? That sky looked weird, didnt it? I thought the world was going to end or something. Something catastrophic maybe happened but no, just cut to black!

I'm sure I've forgot a few more lol. Sorry for long post.

1. There are logs in hidden areas that proclaim that Colt had a pretty lame military career that was elevated only due to their participation in the experiments. This first loop persisted for some time but was eventually broken by Colt; Something that happened during this first timeloop seemed to have stuck with Colt and drove him to recreate it. He practically started the Aeon Program.

For whatever reason, the Visionaries think that you always keep your memories. It is heavily implied that extreme feelings like hatred or anger can build up between loops, which is something Colt knew from the first loop but chose not to disclose to the Aeon program. Julianna originally didn't know anything until Colt shot her every day.

2. According to Julianna much later in the game, you can only keep so much "loaded" in your brain, which can eventually drive you to insanity at worst or amnesia at best. Julianna developed a mental pruning technique to avoid losing her memories.

3. Colt "always comes back around" because of a some important facts. Fact number 1: Breaking the loop could undo the fabric of reality. Fact number 2: Breaking the loop would free all of the visionaries and release them upon the world. Do you really want to free Alexis Dorsey? And finally Fact number 3: Breaking the loop would make you mortal again.

4. 3-4 were kind of the same question, but let's discuss the ending. In the bad ending, you break the loop and Julianna storms away in anger. She was stuck in the loop with you and does not know the answers to the questions you are asking, and sure as hell won't tell you because you KILLED HER. The only person that really knows is Colt, and he does not seem to want to remember.

Not really a paradise since things are eventually going to become super repetitive considering there is no way of communicating with the outside world. Julianna is going to run out of new knowledge and new experiences to keep her busy, don't you think? Thats no paradise thats hell.

I think it would be paradise. Researchers like Wenjie would have new research. People would discover new parts of the island (as Colt you discover quite a lot). Julianna was doing a lot of reading. People on the inside could write and make movies eventually, probably. You could always take to trying to study the anomaly itself.

I think it would be a paradise. But maybe you're on to something - maybe everyone cracked in that "hell" and that's why they can't remember. :)

We see too that Wenjie was working on Residuum which could keep things between loops which you use in game for stuff and that works well so there'd easily be enough to where you could live eternity with something new each day if everything worked perfectly. Sounds like a paradise to me.

1: They start the loop to have infinite time for research and experimentation, and probably immortality.
- loop can run for 17.000 days or years or something like that
- first loop which was started by the soviets ended some time later / energy ran out and soviets with Colt left the island and Colt went into the Asylum because he went mad

2:People losing their memories was something not expected, as everyone still thinks its their first day.
- backed by Wenji, if you listen she complains with her clones that she can't remember and always failed and try to find a solution -> infusion system
- Wenji tried to develop a device to KEEP things between loops (like notices or better memories) and Colt uses this infusion system for his weapons because this system needs to sacrifice a high energy body (Wenji)

3: He was invited back into blackreef by egor, due to the latter getting him out of asylum and giving him a job.
- there was a letter in one horizon soviet bunker where Colts girlfriend / mother of Julianna stated she waits for Colt here, but nothing more found what happened to her, according to Julianna she died sometime ago, unclear if Colt even know that his girlfriend was there
- quite unclear Julianna only stated somethingh like that Colt was drew back to the island

4: Juliana wants to protect blackreef as its the only place she knows. (She was born there, and knew that hundreds of years had past by, & didn't want to venture out into the world)
- i never found any info about Juliannas intentions why she helped Colt or tried to kill him, maybe she went just crazy, because in one notice it is stated that the loops causes madness and the other Colts were clearly crazy while our Colt has at least some mental stability

Can someone explains where the information that Julianna was born in Blackreef comes from? I did not think this to be the case.

There's at least two relevant timelines:

Operation Horizon whic predates AEON by 3 decades. This was a secret operation of Motherland Army (secret because when Colt was found, he was deemed crazy by the same Motherland Army). This project was closed/hurried up because it did not saw results. Lila Blake was not here.

Then AEON project, which is a privatized continuation of Horizon with private investors.

For Julianna to be born there, it would mean that AEON took 17 years from backers and employees being on the island before the start First Day, which can't be the case. Aleksis, Charlie, Fia et al won't live 17 years on the island. The Spies are from Motherland and they seem to have spied for hundreds of days per their logs, maybe a few short years, not 17 years.

There's a document/audio from Lila, saying goodbye to Colt and abandoning him to go to the mainland when she finds out she is pregnant. That's why her daughter has her last name only, she is a bastard child. Julianna never met her dad.

More importantly, Julianna says to Colt in one of the stage intros that she was hired by AEON first as an employee and later as a Visionaire on merit, which would mean college education and actual qualifications (unlike Colt or the other rich people that bought in like Frank, Fia, and Aleksis). Eternalists are not only backers, but also engineers and scientists that work for AEON, which you can see fixing stuff or at labs, or even plotting to mess up Wenji's plans.

The above is what I understood, please correct me obviously.

1. For science, also with one ending the sky is a different color and it seems like the looped area is closed off from the rest of the world so the world keeps progressing while they're stuck in the loop. with the current state of our world it's a safe bet they were probably going to try to solve global warming or some other catastrophe .

2. Stress/depression It's implied he knew julianna was his daughter from the previous loops so the realization he would have to kill his daughter and himself could of drove him mad. it's clearly stated he had gotten to that point before and was unable to pull the trigger/commit to murdering his daughter.

3. He was originally a member of the Horizon project and was the only person to escape. he did so I believe 30-40 years later and was placed into a mental asylum probably because he was trying to explain to people he was someone who went missing 40 years ago and has never aged. When egor got him out and offered him a job he probably felt like he couldn't function in the real world/survive due to his mental state after his experiences the first time. so why not go back to where you will atleast be able to live comfortable and accepted.

4. It really doesn't give a good explanation for why Juliana wanted to keep the loop going. it could of been to spend time with her father or torture him for his perceived abandonment, or it could of been because the research was required and the female scientist was making progress on being able to keep her memories so she could of actually started to work on their original purpose.

As far as the ending went it was very open ended the sky being a different color is most likely either the after effect of some catastrophic event or it could of just been something like the northern lights.

as far as why julianna keeps her memories it's probably something genetic from colt or his mother since they were both part of the original horizon experiment and something was different that time as it appears like memory loss wasn't a factor then.
