Machete kinda OP in PvP?

Apparently if you just swing at someone while near them, you assassinate them no matter what? Kinda busted if you just run up to them and spam it, I see no counterplay other than headshotting them with a shotgun or something but that might be hard against certain perk combinations?

Due lag you easily "backstab" others, for whatever reason (most likely hitting them during turning/animations)
Even if not: 2 hits are enough to kill someone with it.

tbh PvP is kinda busted overall, some of the weapons Juli gets in her early levels is INSANE compared to the stuff Colt has in his early levels. I feel bad for some of the players that I kill :/

until colt gets a gas weapon making it mandatory to run a gas perk on juli or you just die no matter what lol

Oh word, I didnt know gas was good. I have a slug gun with gas on Juli. Might mess around with it !

without the perk getting hit just meant dying for me because running away I'd still die to the poison ticks, now I use it and it heals me lol

I'm using some pistol where the rounds also explode, you can literally kill someone with a single shot that just lands NEAR them

yeah just had my first encounter with this, threw two mines down he trigged both then jumped onto the roof I was on, RUNNING AT ME insta execution with the machate. lol

all 5 invasions ive done have ended with me being killed by a machete. i feel like the only counterplay against someone who knows about this is to just treat colt like he has an AOE instant kill trigger surrounding him at all times and never be near him

edit: and in the 6th invasion i instagibbed colt twice with a gas slug weapon and an explosive rifle without even aiming for the head... this ♥♥♥♥ is so unbalanced lmao

Yeah PVP is very one sided it feels like, I feel bad after invading someone ngl, how does a new player counter a Juli in Aether firing slug round gas grenades and detonating it with buckshot on a lever action shotgun lol

Its the Lag. I wish you had to "Hold" the assassination button down for half a second for it to prompt assassination on another player.

But pvp in general has huge potential. It is a map wide fight in many circumstances depending on the players. Ofc other than certain op combination of stuff, lag and some weapon/ability balance, the fundemental balance of the game is pretty good.

Partially, but even with a longer prompt it's OP if you can do it even if the opponent is moving and/or shooting at you. I think it would be more balanced if lag didn't kill everything, but when Colt has 3 lives to just ran at you with a machete and only needs to succeed once, it's kinda OP.

Just had a game where I could not hit Julianna with melee at all because of lag, but she basically teleported to my back and insta-killed me.
