Windows 10 Version 1909 is Required to Run this Game

I have disabled windows 10 automatic updates and spyware, and i have no plans to enable them or update manually in any foreseeable future.
Do you think there is hope for update that gets rid of 1909 requirement or am i better off refunding this game ?

You are better off refunding, I am afraid. The game runs on the latest iteration of DX12 enabled DXR features, so it will need 1909 as a bare minimum. It simply won't be possible to make this thing run on older Windows 10 versions without removing RT and even AMD's FSR.

How did you even manage to do that? Every single method I have tried to disable auto updates was temporary. They always forcefully turn the auto updates on.

just disable updates in group policy, he shows it at 5:00. works like a charm.

Doesn't work for Home edition though, which is what most laptops and prebuilt PCs come with.

That is unfortunate. They should have kept the option to use older DX versions, like most AAA developers do.

It requires quite a bit of tampering with registry files or downloading a specific build.

For anyone wondering how to disable windows updates in Windows 10 home edition, make sure to mark your internet connection as "metered" and in windows update settings Advanced Options, turn off "Download updates over metered connections".
