What happens when you infuse a slab upgrade you already have?

I have Erase, a slab upgrade for aether that causes stealth kills to leave no corpse shadow infused already. I just picked up another Erase. And it's giving me the option to infuse it. What benefit would this provide?

I don't think it would give any benefit as you'd just have two of them? Sacrifice it for free residium.

Same as the double jump character trinket. You'll always have at least one extra

I rather wish the game would just auto-sacrifice redundant slab upgrades and personal charms - I'm not seeing the point in having to change charm filters and sorting every day to get rid of the extras when there's no point in keeping them (I guess you could infuse them to store residuum, but that's pretty marginal and not worth the hassle to have as an option).

♥♥♥♥, good point. I just sacked it, but if you infuse it (for 15k), you can break even after 3 loops (saccing for 5k).

On that note, I wish there was a way you could sac all duplicates (except weapon trinkets & guns).
