So I just hit max level with Julianna and not once was masquerade ever even close to useful
such a pointless ability. it would have been much better if colt had it instead

also invisibility + upgrade that lets you stay invisible when taking damage is wildly OP. i just turn invisible during a fight and break their neck. only gets counter played if i'm out of juice and the colt has stopping power on their weapon

I got level 50 aswell and i did find masquerade *somewhat* useful. Use it to blend with people if alarm is on, or to just stand still in the open and watch some angles i want to cover. It is underwhelming tho. You'll never jebait good Colt player to shoot the NPC with this ability, and you'll never pass for an actuall NPC if you try to move around.

Giving this to Colt would be quite OP. Its basically infinite invisibility against NPCs.

Sounds good, even OP. Yeah, i find it extremely moronic that you can get oneshoted (assasinated) from the front if enemy is invisible. Like, cmon, i can see him walking!

I think like 80% of the players run invisibility with upgrade which allows you to stand still.

They should upgrade Masquerade into a prop disguise rather than a NPC.

Pretending to be a Turret and having the colt wonder why he can't hack you.

Proxy and Tripwire mines are more useful than Masquerade. You can at least bait them into using Shift.

Plus they use shift to climb ledges, you can chuck a proxy mine on top of a ledge so if they scale a building the mine blasts them off of it.

I wish it didn't alert people when there was an invasion - that would make Masquerade so much better - nobody will be paranoid about every NPC all of the time.

It's like the old Assassin's Creed Multiplayer; looking like an NPC means nothing when you're running around on the roof. We don't move like AIs; I don't think Juliana even gets idle animations when using it.

Edit; We also have some useless mods, like Perforator. I'm targeting just Colt; I don't care about that.

Even just standing completely still, it is painfully obvious when it is Julianna using Masquerade.

What do you mean? Isn't it grate to give NPCs aggro on you when fighting Colt? I use Zone on Karnesis just for this!

I once decided to see, can i talk to a visionary as Juliana, since we are suppose to know each other so maybe there is some dialog, right?

So i walk up to him and press "F".. and break his ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ neck.

But the old AC games let you blend in like an NPC unlike Masquerade.

Yeah, that was great, because they added idle animation when you were blended in. You always ha fools who still ran around the rooftops though.

Aside from the ability being a gimmick, an some Mods being not particularly suitable, the most annoying part about it is the lag.

Sometimes, your shift just doesn't want to put you there, then rubber-bands you back, or a simple jump does the same. That hurts your play a lot.

The main problem with Masquerade is the lack of the NPC's on the level and no real way to actually blend, NPC are always in same locations in every loop, Experienced colt players will easily know which is which.

Also because colt is notified when Julianna is invading, That should not be a thing after a couple of invasions, simply put, make it so experienced colt with alot of stuff Infused no longer notified by her presence, So that there's at least an element of surprise.

Or at least an option to prevent the alert. Then when they get back, they keypad just doesn't work, so they will only then realize they need to disable the antenna.

I have quite the opposite experience. I guess you don't realize how to use it properly yet. I often kill Colt with machette in the back because of this ability alone.

Would you mind explaining your process?

Timing is a key. You need to use this ability when NPC is in agro, and trying to hunt Colt. When NPC is in agro mode, they are very convincing. You also need to use decent NPC red or gold one, so his damage would make Colt believe it's a player. Overall NPC in agro mod are more or less convincing. And then it's your move to flank him. I usually go for knife in the back, because P2P network simply not worth gun shots most of a time. Colt is the host, he will always be in advantage with gun shots. You don't want to fight face to face with him unless there are NPCs around to help you.
