How to find my Gate at the Airport?
Sorry maybe a dumb question but after landing the displayed text says:

"Taxiway Navigation"

"Follow On-Screen guidance to taxi to your assigned gate" etc.

But I can not see any on screen guidance... Does anyone know where I can see it?

How do I find my gate?

Thx!

I'm not sure if you have to turn it on but in the settings there's an option for Taxi Ribbon or something like that ... it will put blue arrows on the ground to guide you while you're taxiing.

I don't consider this a fix honestly. Gates should be labeled on the map in your aircraft. Those blue arrows are way to obtuse and ruins the atmosphere of the sim. And it's even worse if you hand it over to the AI. Not only does the AI drive like grandma. It has a death wish and drives all over the grass.

Yeah I think those arrows could be more subtle. I saw them before release on the preview vids, and I can't bare to activate them.

I wish it had a toggle. Just turn it on real quick and off again.

Still I would rather it draw lines on a map and not in you view.

Those giant blue Taxi Ribbons makes the flying atmosphere less realistic at its best while they attempt to make this sim as realistic as possilble.

I think they should minimize and fade out those ribbons as much as possible to not to obstruct pilot view when taxiing. Or an option just sightly hightlighten the centerline that assists pilot to the gate or parking position.

The most realistic MSFS might give us, is a Follow-me vehicle, at least at large airports and waiting us a the taxiway right after we exit and clear the runway after landing, but I doubt it will work at the moment, since GSE at airports seem now chaotic, especially buses and vehicles run and block taxiways everywhere!

At the moment I just use VFR map and zoom out maximal to see the airport layout and taxiing manually.

Well, hold on a minute there. If you want realistic, you should have your Jeppesen airport map open and then study the taxiway route given by ATC.

I mean, I get what you mean, but you're not being fair saying the HUD taxi arrows are not 'realistic'.

:)

1) Option 'Taxi Ribbon' on (Option-Assistance-Navigation Aids-Taxi Ribbon)
2) After Landing contact Ground ATC (not Tower ATC) to proceed to Gate/Park Area
3) After reply to information given by Ground ATC, you can see Taxi ribbon to Gate/Park area instantly

Otherwise you need real airport map to find your way, for real.

US FAA Maps do not have gate information on them. You will have to go to the airport website or find a picture with the gates. And that is why it should show on the map. I don't think anyone wants to use the ribbon.

noting that the taxiways ATC assigns often do not match the real world taxiway identifiers

Yeah. And that only adds to the problem unless you give in and use the ribbon system. Someone said on another thread about using a button to look at POI's to get you to the gates. I'm gonna try that next flight.

Sometimes the ribbon fails to appear. This usually happens after one flight. This is a bug from way way way back in FSX. It has the same exact issue.
