Refunded at 5 hours

I was able to refund after 5 hours of game time. Half of that being the game downloading itself. Thanks Steam!

My top 5 reasons for refunding the game:

1. Weird non flight simulator feeling with the game overall in general. My best guess here is that it feels like your not in a flight sim but rather something like Google Earth flight mode. I get it's supposed to feel that way because it is Bing maps.

2. Do you like to free flight or land? Those are your options. I understand more content like missions/career is in the works and should be coming in the future.

3. Crashing planes and lack of actual physics/destruction. If you crash you just see a black screen with a message stating you crashed. Same thing if you over-stress your plane in midair. I know - that's never really a part of MSFS. However without it, it really makes the game feel even more like your just zooming around Google Earth.

4. Pretty cool AI terrain generation. Until you actually visit a unpopular POI of earth. Where trees should be, instead you have triangle pillars that clearly should have been flattened or populated with trees. This wasn't a satellite image issue but the AI terrain generation.

5. Main reason I bought the game was to review the AI terrain generation and to see what my area looked like for accuracy. I was super excited that the roads and buildings around my area were near realistic. But found a nonexistant road where my house should have been. Resolved this disappointment by opening Google Maps and looking at my house to reflect on what I was expecting to see.

That's about it... Overall this game doesn't feel complete to me, and more of a Early Access game/experiment.

I agree. I think a lot of people have crap PC's that can't handle it so they blame the sim.

If it was a sim fault we would all be having issues. Funny enough I have not had a single crash to desktop

Well i have every simulator since 1998 and was waiting for this one. I just can't stop flying, it is amazing, I already have 67 hours and it isn't a week out yet, yes there are some problems, saitek panels not working, cpu spikes that do drops in frames, simconnect that needs to be better, some places look completely wrong (like my house or even the whole street is wrong), Runway incursions for no reasons and so on. I also have to start up the sim 2-3 times in a row to get it working but once in it doesn't crash anymore, just in the menu when i leave it idle for more then 15 minutes for some weird reason.


But my oh my is this sim great, ATC, VFR, ILS, approach routes even setting them into things like the G1000 on the fly. it's just an unbelievable sim.

Oh and about the crashes you can just thank the community, as many people thought it was funny to crash in the twin towers after 9/11 and making fun of it online. MS decided to remove all crashes that day from the sim and it stayed this way since then! It's to avoid stupid meme's and giving bad idea's to some. I would like to get that back, but to many idiots would abuse the crash system!

Ive got an oldish PC and I didnt get one crash until today. I tried the Caravan today from Locarno to Venice and its kept crashing every time I active-freezed the game. I dont know whether the Caravan is more buggy that the rest of the planes but really frustrating, still to complete the flight. But I have before this been playing with the smaller planes mainly the Cessnas and also a bit with the A320 and no crashes at all with any of those. Its a complex game its bound to have issues, just got to roll with it.

The game crashed to desktop. Its the only plane I've experienced crashing with so far.

Where were on the world map when it happened and what is in the app event log for the reason for the crash?

I already made about 8-9 flights with the caravan have no issues, so it could be the place, try maybe flying somewhere else, or lower the settings for that flight, I always fly in high end, i tried once a flight in Ultra and crashed after 10 minutes so could be that too. But I don't think it's the caravan.

Same here, refunded without any questions.... pushed a button and waited a day...

I assume that if you play less than 2 hours it's automatic refund....
if you play more (in our case we can say download instead of play)... it will get manually evaluated.... still there's ample margin.. at least in this case like FS2020

I eventually gave up, and went back to the 2014 sim, which I know works, and there are no bugs to work out. I might try the new sim maybe a year from now, which I hope will give them time to work out any bugs. I also got a refund. I might try the disc version, I don't know. Any thoughts on that?
