I'm impressed actually, but I agree with you. Farming is much more than just tractors.

The problem however is the Giants itself. They said few years ago, that they won't make complex farming simulator, because then kids wouldn't be able to play (=buy) it.

But the fact is. Most of the tractors in this game will never be played. They just sit on the shop list and everyone will skip them to buy a better one. When that happens, then there's something wrong in the gameplay itself. The economy and balance isn't right and there's not enough to do for the players!

Players have tried for years to tell Giants what's wrong and how to improve it, but they won't listen, because they think they know better. For example check these news. They just release a news article, and they immediately vanish. They're not reading anything from here!

You can read from different forums that players would like to have more complex gameplay to this simulator. Check out the most popular mods for example! That tells a whole different story than what Giants believe!

More work for gameplay won't have to be complex just for the sake of complexity. For example, I don't want to connect my tools by hand! I hate that. Same thing with transmission. Things like that won't bring anything to the gameplay itself! I appreciate if some people like to do that, but for me, no thank you, I will skip that.

More complexity for work means more detailed steps for the work. For example woodworking.

At the moment woodworking is literally this. You cut log, you sell it. That's it, money in the bank. That's not interesting at all. Player is NOT losing any money, player is just getting more and more money! Only way to "balance" that poor design Giants have made shops pay less for example of one log if player chooses "difficult" level. But that won't make the game more easier or more difficult, it just makes it more grindy and eventually, player will have 10 000 000 € in bank.

What we need are steps for work which will take money, but eventually after some time, the price will be also higher.

For example cutting one log. Player can sell it to Sawmill and get some money immediately.

Or, player could also ask Sawmill to cut the log for Boards/Planks, and player would pay to Sawmill for them to do it. Then player would get:

-Boards/Planks (wet and unusable),
-Wastewood (pieces with bark on them) and
-Sawdust

and player can do whatever he likes with those products!

Player can ask could Sawmill dry wet Boards/Planks for a little pay and to save some time, or player can dry them by himself in his yard, for no cost but using little bit more time.

Eventually player will get dry Boards/Planks, which are raw material which can be sold to certain places. Or player can plane them, again for a little cost, but eventually player will get quality Boards/Planks, which will give more money when sold.

Waste wood could be sold to sawmill as raw material, or chopped to chopped wood chips and then sold to energy, or for example to garden shop as natural cover for flowerbenches.

Sawdust, could be sold as such to garden shop, or to the sawmill, or pressed into firebricks and then sold to local supermarket for more money.

That wouldn't make the game needlessly complex just for the sake of complexity, but it would let players to do more, while losing money, to get more money. It would make the economics more interesting, because sometimes player couldn't buy something for example what he would need in the fields, and it would make also woodworking much more interesting in online games, when everyone would have a job, instead of few players cutting everything, and couple of them driving back and forth, to get more money! And best of all, it would benefit solo play too!

But I very much doubt we will ever get anything like that. Just look at the new stuff Giants did with milk, eggs etc. You can make cakes, and you I bet, they will be instant result when you bring enough stuff to the cake factory!

How exactly that will let online players to play? People are sitting and waiting that cows produce enough milk and chickens produce enough eggs. Then only one player will bring them to cake factory, get the finished product immediately and sell it immediately for money. It is nothing else but a waiting game. That's not just too simple, that's plain boring!

I wish people in Giants would use their heads for once!

Are gear changes gonna be a thing in the game? Kinda stupid having 1 gear that can take you to max speed would like to hear the engine revving back up after changing gear

always wished we can sow and harvest single steps by hand not always only tractor

wonder when ever they add some hand farm working
