Meadow grass
I have a rather larger meadow of grass which I will leave as a meadow. After mowing and creating bales do I need to do normal maintenance like mulch, fertilize or roll?

Thanks

If you cut a non field of grass it will grow back like normal and you don't have to do anything with it after mowing and baling but you won't get as high of yield compared to if you plowed a field and planted it with grass and did all the steps like fertilize, lime, roll etc.
Rolling with a grass roller is supposed to improve yeald, I don't remember if it actually does.

Thanks…thats what i thought. I’ve been playing for years but always planted grass so i didn’t know how meadow grass worked. This meadow is yielding 34 bales which is plenty. I think i will just continue to mow it until i need more bales.

I believe it’s 1.5%

I don’t recall grass fields every needing plowing. I could be mistaken though.
Thanks for the reply!
