Tire/Track spin out of sync.
I don't know why but I keep getting these irritating little bugs lately.

About a month ago I noticed that when any vehicle, modded or base game, exceeds about 12-17 mph the rotation of the tires/tracks stop accelerating and move slower than the speed of the vehicle they are attached to. The vehicle could be traveling 50 mph but the tires/tracks are only spinning around 12-17 mph making it feel like whatever I'm driving is floating over the ground.

Anybody else notice something like this? I just want my game to work properly. I've fiddled with everything even reinstalling and verifying game files.

Same problem here, but when I move the camera it some times looks like they are moving backwards.

experiencing the same thing. whatever. the devs of this game don't care about anything.

Have you ever looked at a fan with a light shining through it? Have you changed the speed of that fan, you'll notice that the blades will seem that they are going backwards or even stopped. Knobby tires have the same effect.

Ya some of that is by design to simulate what real wheel movement looks like.

I can't believe people are actually thinking real life physics and "optical illusions" are actually a game bug?

It's kind of sad that it seems like no one went to school and paid attention in class anymore.

And keep in mind here ladies and gentlemen....the people who created the atomic bomb were on average, 23-26 years old....Pretty sad to be to the point where 20's and 30's don't understand something as simple as wheel movement....

Well most of them were in their mid to late 30's, but the sentiment of your post is sound.

Except it used to look more realistic and believable than it does now. Now, it looks as if the spinning potential of the wheels was artificially limited to the point where you simply don't get a real "spinning up" effect, anymore.
Keep in mind that your games fps and the Hz your monitor can do also plays a part in all this.

? no problems here using REA mods

Maybe even the light used in the room?

I doubt it, but that kinda physics is far beyond what my 1 digit IQ can handle.

Yes this was changed in the 1.13 patch:

Translated:
This is intentional to reduce artifacts when the wheels rotate quickly. At these speeds, the real speed can no longer be represented correctly with the frame rates, which is why we decided to limit this in order to minimize these problems. Depending on the vehicle and the situation, this can of course be seen. But in my opinion it's still better than making it look like the wheels are turning backwards.

Giants at their best. For ONCE they get something right, and then ♥♥♥♥ it over.

Are you eight years old or are you having stroke? Cause I can't tell.

Read the quote directly from Giants software that others posted in this thread regarding the wheels spinning slower than they should.

Will ya look at that. Giants confirmed the very thing I suspected. They did in fact, slow down the tire spin on vehicles.

If you're telling me that the wheel spin in this game is in fact "real life physics". Then that must mean that literally ever other video game with vehicles must be doing it wrong. Cause no other game I've ever played has tires that spin like they currently do in FS22.

While I am truly humbled that a being of your superior intellect decided to grace us with your presence and drop some knowledge bombs on us poor ignorant folk, you can go ahead and mosey on back to your high horse of infinite knowledge. We monkey brained cave men actually invented the wheel. So yeah, we know how they work.

I don't even feel I need any more evidence, but I'm gonna do it anyway.

You can clearly see how the tires stop accelerating after a certain point. The asymmetrical mud texture on the tires make it plain as day. Make sure you viewing the video in HD so you can actually see what I'm talking about.

Thanks for providing that. I wasn't entirely sure there was a conscious decision to make this change.
Don't know what the artifacts are supposed to be - I never really noticed - but I'd probably be willing to accept those in exchange for a better-looking wheel spin.
