New To PC Gaming
Hi Everyone.

I changed from console to pc gaming yesterday. I play alot of farm sim 22 and the main reason for the switch was due to the mods available on pc compared to console. Unfortunately, i dont have a clue what im doing :)

I have downloaded mods and created a mods folder but everytime i start the game, the mods that i have downloaded are not showing up for me and i dont know what im doing wrong.

Any help/advice whatsoever would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You don´t need to create a mods folder, the game automatically creates one in a specific location:
C:\Users\yourusername\Documents\My Games\FarmingSimulator2022\mods
Mods have to be kept as .zip and never have to be unpacked.
When everything has been done fine you should be able to enable/disable your mods when starting/loading a map.
And i recommend just to use mods you find on trustworthy sites like giants own modhub (that is also accessible from the main menu ingame) as there is a giant load of trash out there that only corrupts your game.

Thank you both for the reply. its mods like "Follow me" and "autodrive" etc is what i have downloaded but when i go into "this pc, docs,my games, farming sim, mods it says this folder is empty. Thats why i created a folder then. I have watched videos on how to do it but nothing so far has worked. The files are definitely zip, but i dont know what "unpacked" means so maybe thats the problem?

You have to move the downloaded zips to that folder.

No, as a previous poster mentioned the zip files do not have to be unzipped (a.k.a. "unpacked"), in fact they must not be. (There are a rare few mega-mods that do but these wouldn't be). They simply need to be moved into the game's mods folder - and then when you launch a map in the game you need to check the boxes for those mods to include them in that gameplay.

First, you can go into the giants modhub from out of the game direct, there is downloadable content in the main menu, there you can access the modhub and all downloaded files end up in the mods folder automatically.
Are you sure you are in the correct folder? There should be savegames and settings stuff, too.

So basically, when i download a mod eg scania tipper, i download the file, move it to mods folder and it comes up as a compressed zip file? Then when i launch the game and go into installed mods, the scania tipper is not there?

I know how to work the in-game mods because i have being playing fs on console for years but i decided to switch to pc to get proper trucks ie scania and not lizard, follow me mod, terraform etc, all the mods that are not available on console.

I'll keep trying and learning.

Thanks for the help.

As said, try to only download from trustworthy sites like giants own modhub. If you download them from their page they will always come as a .zip file and this has simply to be moved into the mods folder and should show up after you restart the game.
