Should I cut the trees that I send to my saw mill?
I read somewhere that you get maximum worth from a tree if you cut it down to parts of a lenght of 8m before selling it to a saw mill.
But I bought a saw mill, so now I'm wondering if there is any point at all for me to process the tree before handing it in? Will there be any difference with a whole tree or a cut up tree?

You get paid per liter wood... so doesent really matter.

If it's the same as in previous games, then straight logs between 6m and 8m length will give you the best price.

When it comes to adding wood as a resource to make other things, then length wont matter as you're placing lumber volume in over quality, so cut the lengths to suit your trailer I'd say.

When it comes to selling cut trees, there was deffo a range between 6m and 8m that would pay better than higher or lower lengths, on average. Whether that same design for selling made it from fs17 and 19 into the 22 version is unknown to me, but you've made me want to test the theory now.

Everyone knows size matters. I think you get the most with 9m straight logs (you can test this with one of the forestry machines that cuts them to the perfect length) but you definitely get the least from turning in a whole tree.

As far as selling wood you can go to the carpentry shop or sawmill but if you buy both I haven't found a way to not use it for production (even by disabling it in the menu) but I think you could buy and place another selling point.

One of the bio plants (heating i think) lets you sell logs directly.
