Greenhouses nerfed?
Have they been nerfed? I'm barely making any lettuce over a total year in the game where as before i would need to empty them at least once. Am i missing something?

The pallet sizes have changed. I thought the same thing.

But does that mean we are producing the same, but the pallets are bigger?

Greenhouses severely nerfed. For instance lettuce used to be (I think) 32L per cycle 2 cycles per game hr meaning a greenhouse produced about 1600 L per day (about 8 200L pallets)
Now you get 768 1 L cycles per month. meaning on a 1 day month game you are getting 1.5 pallet (500 L pallets) or 768L vs 1600L for a day. If you do multiple days per month it is much worse as that 768L is per month so if for instance you run 3 day months it is about 5000L old way vs the same 768L new way.

Ouch, they dont even seem worth it anymore

Just as a matter of detail from what I can see in the XML files lettuce cycles 32 times per hour, and outputs 1 liter per cycle for the large greenhouse.

<production id="lettuce" name="$l10n_fillType_lettuce" cyclesPerHour="32" costsPerActiveHour="0.1">
<inputs>
<input fillType="WATER" amount="2" />
</inputs>
<outputs>
<output fillType="LETTUCE" amount="1" /

For the other two products its 64 cycles per hour, Tomatoes output 1 liter per cycle, and strawberries output 2.

These numbers still add up to 768 per day for lettuce, however unless they also change the way hours work when you lengthen months then I dont see why you wouldnt still get 768L per day for lettuce. Its possible if you lengthen the days per month it modifies the way hours work to still only produce the same amount of cycles per month. That I dont know at the moment.

ok game UI says the 768 never looked at the XML. Also I only play with one day months and was going by other articles for the multiple days per month. Either way still significantly nerfed to the point that the extra work especially with the issues with pallets still make it a hard go.

Everything you said was basically correct from what I can see. I was just pointing out that from what I can see I dont see why season/month length will change anything. Logic also would suggest the same, given you pay for the things daily in upkeep. I mean if you really dont like the way they work you could always bump them up a bit by having them output at 2, rather than 1 by editing that line in the XML. The game is sandbox and mod friendly so I say play the way you like the game.

It even changed the honey pallets. I had one pallet set aside, and now it is a quarter pallet.

I never messed with honey before. So I'm not sure what you mean by it being a quarter pallet.

I take that back, it's half. Honey pallets used to be two crates of 12 jars of honey. Now the pallet will hold 4 crates of 12 jars. Takes longer to get a full pallet, and with days changed, I'll have to adjust my selling strategy.

Like it was said earlier, some, not all, pallets changed their max load. Meaning that they're both heavier (can no longer lift them by hand without mods) and can hold more. But that doesnt change the current pallets thats already in the game waiting to be sold to be full. It'll be half full and thus their models will change to just have a quarter of their content in the model.

New pallets will have their normal look again. However, since you can no longer lift them by hand (without mods) you gotta use a forklift.

I think they are still worthwhile for extra sources of income without being overpowered for only taking water. Chicken Coops were also nerfed, but they needed it much more.

Remember all those people insisting the Greenhouses where all too profitable before the patch? We just got what they wanted :steamhappy::-)

The xml file for greenhouses is in your data folder, go to ...data/placeables/lizard/greenhouses/greenhouseLarge
