I have used the F1 window as sometimes when i want to refill something (refill gas in tractor, slurry to tank, milk to tank, water to tank, etc) the spot to refill can be tough to find.
I solved it now though by getting a well that provides fresh water, it's just strange that I cannot fill it up in the only body of water that is on the map.
What is the exact name of the Tanker you are using? Is it a Mod? If a Mod is it from the in game Modhub?
Just tested:
I can't get water from the small lake at the starting farm in "No Man's Land" either.
Edit: It seems like the watertank on the map also doesn't work.
Also ShutEye: Did you get out and turn the valve for the water tank? It has a manual valve you need to turn on before getting back in and filling the trailer. Once on the valve slowly closes (about 30 seconds of water fill time).
... hang on *reads* "To use open water valve" ... uh ... NEVERMIND LOL :)
What a strange addition :)
I was like: "After so many hours (966 as of April 2023, thanks to not being able to do anything else after open heart surgery), why change the mechanic?"
When Oma Tana came out with her open garden mod, it was a gamechanger for me, because of the little water pump(container menu) and the distributeur tower(production menu). I switched and it is the method, and I use to this day. Highly recommend that mod(or any mod from Oma Tana really)
Some trailers like the AEBI ones have to be modified in the workshop.
Anyways on Elmcreek i found it easiest to get free water at the ford next to the small bridge north to the western interstate junktion.
An alternative is this nifty little mod with the water station. You just place it somewhere, add some diesel and it starts producing water. Since the water is already in the production system you can then just share the water with the production facilities.
Pretty handy if you run multiple greenhouses.
