I said I wouldn’t but I did….
I said I wouldn’t, but I did….I bought FS25 and the year one pass.

Oh well. I’ve blown $80 on worse things I guess. Hopefully it turns out to be a great game.

Anyone else prepurchase?

I will, of course, have to play one of them, to get the initial feel of the new game.

The reason for me pre-ordering is that I simply feel GIANTS deserve my money, for all the hours of joy. Must be 4k+ by now. Cheap for any kind of entertainment :)

About 4K and above. Did you know that this technology applies between devices only. Because the human eye does not perceive more than 2K (20/20). We are fooled by boasting about all these advantages looking at 4K, 8K, and so on. Do some research on the net and you will see (2K) is the max. Don't let yourself be influenced by all the advertising, they probably know this but we are careful not to tell you.

Edit: AND you are so wrong. The visible clarity going from 2k to 4k was massive. Worst problem is / was the increased power to support this while gaming. That's an unfortunate "bonus" that is hard to overlook. It helped when I switched to a 4080 Super from a 3070 ti, though. This card is so much more effecient.

Exactly, its nothing to do with "how much you can see" it is down to the amount of power and memory needed to handle true 4k is just too much, and isn't really worth it most of the time.

1440p (2k) is just considered the equilibrium as it seems to be the perfect balance of quality over power usage.

And if you think your eyes can only see "2k" then you might need to go to the opticians my friend, because even with my poor eyesight even I can see the difference between 2k and 4k, It kinda sounds like you are one of those "You can only see 60Hz" supporters too right?

But back on topic, I too have pre-ordered FS25, I wasn't sure at first but as I know I am a sucker for it and fell in love with the series, I just know I am going to watch 1 video from one of the many content creators on youtube and go "yeah I wanna piece of that".

I am actually looking forward to the Asian map, Just because I think most people will start in the US map and it will be over done on YouTube especially during the first few weeks.

I am not sure I am ready for the 3rd round of "No Mans Land" videos though, that map - although a very nice one - has been played to death now.

If you play on a 20" monitor it doesn't makes much difference between 2k and 4k, but if you play 4k on a 20" the problem it's yours.
I always said that under 30" 4k it's pointless.

I play fs22 in 4k on a 65" oled and it looks awsome!

From what I've seen, fs25 looks like it is going to look even better!

I haven't purchased yet, but I am going to pre-purchase. My son has already bought it so that we can both play together on opening day (God willing the first day bugs don't keep that from happening). He has never played before, so this 25 version is going to be his first, so he will not have the past games to cloud his expectations. To everyone that is pre-purchasing 25 with me, happy farming! :Moooo::FS19pig::Sorghum:

I always said that under 30" 4k it's pointless.

I will be honest I was going to go into a whole detail about why 4k is only beneficial on larger screens, which is why it was a thing in the first place, the same to why HD became a thing, TVs started to "outgrow" the SD resolution, and you noticed it wasn't as good as you remember on your TV that was probably no bigger than 20" back then anyway...

I have a 46" screen, which is probably why I can tell the difference between 1440p and 4k the same as I can tell if its 1080p too... but as I assume most people are playing games on sub 30" screens the point of 4k is irrelevant, sure the screens can do 4k but you're not getting the full benefits.

Its like watching 1080p video on your smart phone, does it make any difference from 720p? You can tell the difference between 480p because of the poor ass compression it uses, but if it were raw video you may not even notice at first that it was 480.

However even so, I have a PC that can handle 4k in most of the games I play, and even those that can't 1440p is still more than adequete for most things. the original point though is, on the right type of screen you can easily tell the difference between a 1440p source and a 4k source.

But again going back on topic, has anyone pre-purchased the collectors edition? I prepurchased the year 1 bundle here, but I had to double dip on the physical collectors, I am interested in what that 16 BIT version is like, I got the C64 version from Giants the one that can apparently run on real hardware? I haven't tried it, but enjoyed what they done with the emulated version, The 16 BIT one seems to be in the style of the Genesis/Mega Drive, I hope that is an actual compatible ROM image, I will be slapping that on my Mega Everdrive straight away if it is lol.

like CoD ... every year the same or fifa.

only reason why I not pre order is that I fly into a vacation 3 days after release
AND because I pre ordered Stalker 2 and because there is the release in my vacation of the new Flight Sim. There is coming way to much for me
OK I Pre ordered Year One. I AM SO HYPED!

In my Opinion the Farming Sim will be the best to start with for me.
The Flight Sim will have alot of bugs like the 2020 Sim at start and Stalker 2... will be like CP2077 at Release for sure. So, lets go with Farm Sim.

I am expecting some minor bugs as is the norm these days with modern games, but hopefully nothing truly game breaking, I am hoping that the "Partners" who will be getting an early copy won't just be using it as a way to generate a load of content (which of course is the primary reason for advertising) but also tell Giants about any serious bugs they encounter so it gets a smoother release, but we all know that won't happen.

If I remember FS22 had a few hiccups at start, and some of these are persistent issues to this day, which most already know the fix, but still we see daily posts of "I am experiencing lag on my PC that can play *insert irrelevant AAA title here* at 8k 300fps ultra..." when all they literally have to do is just wait it out for a short while....

I'm in-between two minds about FS 25 because I believe it will be not much different to FS 22. I read there will be goats in the new one. Wow. Not much to get excited over when we get milk from cows.

I know there will be more crops and I bet those new ones make crap money where the selling prices never reach the thousand mark.

I'm sure the maps are going to be nothing to be thrilled over where there will be too many hilly spots so when we place a building or a pen etc, those buildings will be perched up on a hill again so that we have to sort the ground out. Even with flattish land, the ground dips downwards or it goes upwards. Luckily Fox Farms that I'm using is flat land. The only thing is lacks is no town and the Biogas Plant has nothing to sell the manure at because the creator goofed.

I'm going to check out FS 25 more before I buy it.

I almost forgot. If we can't turn off that tornado crap I'm not buying the game. I'm not prepared to spend ages planting crops, waiting ages for them to grow and for my trees to grow so that a tornado keeps on coming in and destroying everything. The same with my animals pens. This will get so bloody annoying having to keep on doing the same things over and over again and hardly getting anywhere. We'd end-up bankrupt before we know it will a massive loan and we'd never pay it off. This is why I never let anyone in my game encase of trolls that want to cause as much damages as they can.

If we can turn off the tornados, I hope the achievements tell us what to do to unlock them. In FS 22 it doesn't. I think there's one called Cowboy and it doesn't tell us what to do to unlock that one, either.

Has there been any word if the build system as been improved? The current landscaping/build component is awful.
