Tutorial - Harvester Pipe Not Moving

This is my first time playing FS and I am stuck on the guided tour/tutorial. The hint says to park my trailer on the left side of the harvester, and if I am in the correct position with the cover open the harvester pipe will automatically move and the wheat will start flowing.

Let me tell you, I have parked my trailer every possible distance and still the infernal pipe will not move! Why is the tutorial not clearer? How far away from the harvester do I need to park for this to work?

Go into the harvester and push O to make the pipe come out. The only time the pipe will go out and start emptying on its own is when there is a hired worker driving the combine. You will have to drive the combine and put the pipe out over the trailer and then it should start emptying.
