My 48-hour save game has disappeared
Hello.
I have Steam Cloud activated.
I was happily playing when suddenly i couldn't save my game. The automatic saving was activated too.
I went to the game menu and it said "your game has not been saved". So i tried to save it manually. Same message. So i quit the game and re-log onto it, that's when i saw my save has disappeared !
I tried to download my game file from Steam Cloud but i don't know what to do with it.
None of the tutorials found on youtube to recover lost save file could have been done since i literally have empty files in the steamlibrary file -> Farming Simulator 22.
my whole game was saved on Steam Cloud yet i can't recover those files...

what can i do next ?

The game has a built in save game backup system, this vid will walk you through it.

Cause of issue found. Steam cloud is well known for losing or corrupting data, while you never have full control over your own data stored there.

Yep. Do not use Steam cloud. It's -not- a back-up!

Mods have a good habit of breaking saves especially when it comes from 3rd party sites.
I'd have to say I've never had a mod break a save. I don't use a lot of non-modhub mods but those I do use are excellent. As long as you are careful what you download and from where you download it. In fact I'm currently on a non-modhub map, The Oaks 4x (by farmsim brisco) which is one of the best I've ever played on.

Like (I assume) the OP the only time I lost a save game was due to Steam Cloud which is why I have it (and Steam Input) turned off globally.

Almost all mods are "unofficial", no matter where you download them. Please learn what mods are and how they work, before posting such incredible nonsense.

The op has an steam cloud issue, that's not regarded to _any_ mod.

head -> desk -> repeat

FRANKDREBIN brought up the mods not the OP.

I have had saves die due to mod conflicts in the past, usually its due to GIANTS doing an update or adding something.

And you found it a great idea to continue?
This thread is not about mods, please stop writing about them.
