Is FS22 worth buying in 2024?
I've never played realistic farming sim games, played a lot of farming games (harvest moon, stardew valley) a ton though, this game looks interesting.

Looking at the monetization (season passes, DLC packs) it seems like if I want to play a complete game I'd get the deluxe edition or whatever of FS22 vs waiting to be drip fed packs over the course of a couple years with FS25

I guess my main question is... for an outsider coming into the series, is there any logic in not getting FS22 and just waiting for FS25? Please let me know if there are some egregious issues with FS22 now that 25 is coming out (degradation of support, bugs, etc especially in multiplayer)

If you go for Fs22 you'll get the complete edition, minus a couple of optional mods, for less the required price for the new one.
The game has pretty much ended it's life cycle, i don't think they'll bring out any new dlc, and it doesn't need major patches, at least i don't have big issues.

Fs25 it's a new game still to come, from a new player perspective could be a better option since it's more recent, but you'll have to wait for modders and dlc to come to a similar completeness.

Or you could wait for a later repackage, but you could end waiting forever and by the time they will probably announce a Fs27.

it's really up to you, sorry if i'm not helping you out XD

I'm glad to hear direct that there don't seem to be any big issues with the game!

Tbh I guess, it being 2024, I am just trying to test the waters to make sure there aren't some huge glaring errors that were being passed over in favor of the new game, like some kinda of gamebreaking multiplayer bug or unaddressed large scale issue with the game.

We live in a world where totally unfinished games are released by reputable(or were/should be reputable) companies and have a handful content patches pushed for them, leave massive annoying bugs and are passed over for the sequel. I'm burned out by that model.

I just want an enjoyable finished game man :lunar2019piginablanket:

I can't speak about since i don't play multiplayer, i might suggest to search around the forum for any mp issue.

i think it depends on:

- how much you willing to spend;
- how much you get tired with vanilla games and need DLCs;

FS22 is a great game and I´m sure FS25 will be good too, but will take more couple of years to have it´s full DLC package.

Also are you willing to wait 4 months to play? If not, FS22

FS22 platinum edition is 50% sale atm, that's a lot of game (and free mods) for half the price of FS25, and no waiting.
Plus, it could be that you tire of it quickly (it's not for everyone, like all games) in which case you also saved money over the full price game...

If it's a matter of costs, then wait. If it's not a matter of costs then buy the game.

You will get many hours of entertainment prior to the release of FS25. Buy the platinum edition:steamthumbsup:

Platinum version has the platinum expansion which i personally feel was a waste of time. One hand it was good to see GIANTS branching out (pun intended lol) to some thing new. But honestlyi play this game for chill farming, not tree planting.

Premium edition gives you the most content since it includes the year 1 and 2 passes.
