Guessing they'll squeak another year out of this one, especially as it got a Year 2 pass
They should also either fix stones or get them out of the game. And hopefully they'll refrain from adding further such good ideas unless they implement them properly.
Every new release seems to be several steps forward but a step or two backwards, annoyingly. It's a great game overall, with each new release though it always feels like they could have hit it out of the park, but decided "nope, we hit doubles around here".
Even simple snow tracks.
How come so many fields and your's the only one farm around?
As someone who played FS 15, 19, and now 22, I can assure you, they don't fix the old ones before releasing a new one.
I completely agree, but look how bad the cars are, they get into traffic jams all the time and while I chuckle sometimes at the realism of that, it's annoying having to turn the traffic off and on again to reset it. The cars knock over road signs all the time as well.
So I'm not that confident Giant's could handle having npc farmers even driving around let alone working their fields.
I've still got deer running up barn walls and the occasional crow landing vertically on a wall face. At the very least Giant's should contract another developer to handle what they clearly have troubles with.
They could use the hired workers system, it's already in place and it could finally be the occasion to fix it.
I agree with those that say we will get at least another year out of 22, but perhaps they will announce something when we actually hit 3 years this November.
I have often wondered if new game releases are tied to licensing rights (and their contractual time periods) from the major brands represented in game and if so maybe these periods have been lengthened with 22.
It could also be the case Giants is trying to develop something more revolutionary for the next game as opposed to the usual evolution of the game and until they get there they can keep adding to 22 via DLC.
Honestly, farm sim 17 19 and 22 are very look a like just with added feature and some shinny reworked texture. I would love so much to be able to put duals on tractors for other reason than the look of it..
I might be all wrong on that, this is only my thought. I really hope that the next farm sim is going to be a big thing.
Instead ATS and ETS have already many years and they simply keep adding and updating the base, Giants should do the same with the next title, a new base game open to "infinite" emprovements.
Makes no sense a new game every 3/4 years for 40€ with some addings.
It would be even more profitable dlcs wise then sell a new game everytime, i would be well more prone to spend in those if i don't have to wait for a Premium edition that can't be bought 2 years after.
