How to add straw?

I started a game with the intent to become a pig farmer. I bought the pen and put the manure silo next to it like the tutorial says but I cant figure out how to add straw to the enclosure. Screenshots show a straw and slurry bar in the managment window but when I go to the managment window there is no straw or slurry bars. What am I doing wrong?

No. just tried dropping a square straw bale on the marker. Ill see if I can find a blower and see if that works

Some accept bales others don't.

This didnt help. I bought a straw spreader. loaded two bales inside and backed up to the drop point. no interaction is possible

I changed to the next bigger pigsty and that accepts the straw. The cheap one doesnt allow it for some reason. Thanks for the help.

Like horses i rarely do pigs, so i don't really remember how they work :D
Maybe the smaller one doesn't support manure.

Edit: illgib's guess was right. Smallest pig-pen does not require straw.
It's a pasture. Pastures do not need straw in this game.

Edit2: There's a tab in-game telling you what your farm needs.
