Electric vehicles doesn't charge.
I'm using the vanilla recharge station, but in a map it charge only if i'm facing in north direction, if i look south it stop, no matter if on the vehicle or out on foot.

On a new vanilla map with no mod, it doesn't charge at all even if almost empty, i press R and nothing happen.

It's the ingame station bugged?

I still have to try mod charging stations, it's my first attempt to a full electric farm.

it works just fine never have any problem with it

I too have never had a problem charging.

But I'm curious. An all electric farm can't be easy. Is your focus mostly silage?

Whatever the reason, it's not even costant, it completely stop working at all, i have a small glimps of the charging start and stop, or the prompt disappear the moment i press r, i have to reposition the vehicle but the option keep disappear.

It happen in every map with or without mods, and i have no mods dealing with electricity, only a vheicle pack that was disabled in both cases.

At first i thought was my modded truck having issues, but the Rigitrack in a no mods vanilla map doesn't work either, but i remember it never worked for me.

I tried Erlengrat some times ago and overnight the Rigitrack didn't charge with the same problem.

Today was the first time i had a reaction and a charge start, but with the "i shot down if facing in a particular way" problem.

I'll try to check files integrity, but it's really strange indeed.

No error or warnings in the log thouh.

Checked files and 6 were redownloaded, probably the custom field textures, and now the tractors barely consumed a couple of l/kw of gas/electric even with high fuel usage, two map tour and a couple of field plowed, all in Elm Creek with no mods.

What's happening here?

I have noticed my electric vehicles consume almost no charge compared to my gas vehicles.

I did a couple of tests and it's strange indeed.
I have the console enabled, and collaterally, the various f5 visualizations.

The charger works only when i'm visualizing the triggers, first f5 screen:

I tried the manual refuel but even whitout it's the same behaviour.

Enabling the console mess with triggers, like "cheat" command makes you lightspeed fast?

I disabled the console but still doesn't work.

I'm at a lloss.

Did something changed in some latest updates?

Don't you have to be in the vehicle to recharge it?
illgib May 31, 2024 @ 1:44pm
In the video i had the Manual refuel mod active, i wanted to try if a "forced refuel" made it work, but it won't.
It behave the same way inside the vheicle, whitout the visualization doesn't work.

Does it recharge for you?

I even scouted into the modsettings folder for any leftovers of old mods, but i never had anything dealing whit fuel or electric.

I've used this Massey Ferguson generator for the last several hundred hours with no issue, always charging from inside the vehicle, with several different vehicles.

That said, like I mentioned earlier, I almost never have to charge. I think in my 300 hours on Elk Mountain I had to charge a delivery truck once. I keep my fuel usage set to normal. I assume that includes electric charge, but I can't say for sure.

I feel like I've heard of this problem before. Maybe it was when the game just came out. If I have a few minutes, I'll search around and see if I can provide some insight.

I tried a couple of other charging stations, but they act all the same, i'll take a look at this aswell.

Nope, it doesn't work.
It's sort of glitchy, on a particular camera angle it works for a couple of seconds, but the moment i activate f5 it works flawlessly.
But if i go somewere else or to sleep it stops.

It's not a real big problem if doesn't consume energy, but it is the moment it can't be recharged.
I'll end refilling up inside the xml.

I've never found myself in the situation, but I've read that if you run out of gas, your tractor will be automatically refilled either next day, or next time you load, I can't remember. I would imagine that electric vehicles would operate on the same mechanic.

Can you refuel a gas vehicle? Could it be a keybinding issue? I ran into an issue on Elk Mountain where the Ammonia station wouldn't respond to "r" and I had to set an extra key bind for refuel. Worth a shot.

But "r" still worked at the gas station.

Gas station works as intended, despite the fuel consumption i mentioned before, i used the small Landini with the biggest engine option, made a couple of trip around the map, subsolied two fields and he only consumed 2 l of gas at high usage setting.
Maybe it's map related, in Alone in the world set to high bleeded gas like crazy.
