Difficulty Level
I have been playing American Truck Simulator for awhile now and looking for something new. Is Farming Simulator 22 highly recommended? What is the difficulty level of managing a farm and fields, etc? Thanks!!

Per se there's almost no difficulties, it's higly scalable and modular in regards, you can disable various field works for example.
The difficulty come in the game loop itself, the tutorial it's non exixtant and there a re a lot of implements that make essentially the same work being visually different.
Some playtrought are highly reccomended, but once you get the grip it's an highly addictive game.

It’s basically a sandbox. Plenty of different ways to play.

I would check out you tube video as tutorial and see what’s the game entails.

The game heavily relies on mods which you can get from built in mod hub. You can play without mods but you’ll be using same equipment over and over again.

I like the game however some people feel that it’s just work. I find it relaxing like ATS.

I came to farm sim from ATS/ETS2. While I liked the truck driving games a lot, I've clocked many times the hours in farm sim. I think it's worth you giving it a shot.
For what it's worth I rate Farming Simulator and ETS2/ATS as my favourite most played games (oh, along with Medieval Dynasty). Farming Simulator I would say is more involved and has more variety and therefore a longer lifetime than ETS/ATS (there are so many modded maps out there that when you get bored with one you can just start anew with another).

It will really depend on the mods and your knowledge, for me to do all my fields from start to finish in terms of from cultivating / plowing to harvest, is an 8-10 hour process. Take your time and have fun, try something new in it, fail at it a few times, and then try again and succeed.

I saw my friend playing it and I said "Farm simulator? Who would play that?" Now 900 hours later... lol

I am the exact opposite. I am a farm sim player that is taking a break in ats. I am loving it, as it is a nice change of pace.

I am only one state away from being able to drive from my actual home in Vancouver BC to my farm in Iowa.
