Moving my saved games location
Hi all,
I am after some advice. I am running out of space on one drive, so I want to move my entire FarmingSimulator2022 directory. I have already moved my Steam installation - now I want to know how to let FS22 know where I have moved my files to.
Can anyone advide me please?
Thank you

I do this often to keep things off my C: drive. This is a fairly good explanation of how to create symbolic links. https://www.howtogeek.com/16226/complete-guide-to-symbolic-links-symlinks-on-windows-or-linux/

It may sound more complicated than it actually is. It's really quite simple.

As far as I know you cannot move the whole of the My Games/FarmingSimulator 2022/ folder but you can move the mods folder which is fine as it can take up a lot of space especially if you use mod maps.

Manually: in "Documents\My Games\FarmingSimulator2022\" find "game.xml" and edit these lines..

<modsDirectoryOverride active="false" directory="C:\"/>

to read something like:

<modsDirectoryOverride active="true" directory="D:\FS22Maps\Buckland"/>

Obviously using whatever folder you like. If you are using base game maps just put the mods from the current mods into your new folder. If using mod maps make sure you put those into the new folder as well. Any new mods downloaded from the in game mod hub will go to the new location.

Alternatively to make life easier install "FSModAssistant" from

Here at gitHub[github.com]

which is a really nice tool for managing multiple mod folders.

I wouldn't recommend trying to move you're entire My Documents folder since that's a base part of Windows. However,, I did move the entire FS19 and FS22 from my C: drive to my D: drive with a symbolic link. No problems.

Nothing in TheOriginalMark:-)'s post about that.
