Who cares if you click it or not?
Click it if you want info or dont if you dont care for what the "savegame ♥♥♥♥ storm" is about.

So some mods are going around that are essentially gamefile malware. These are all of the mods that have gamefile wiping scripts. Do not download.

Once selected in the vehicle store, your game will then freeze and you’ll have to force quit it and when you load back up, everything will be gone.

The last photo shows the script in the xml to look for. It says “windrower”

The ones shown that were uploaded on February 10th are the bad ones. The ones before are legit.

Check the xml’s of EVERY mod you download from a website and look for anything suspicious such as a script that runs when you select the vehicle.

You can’t ever be too safe. Create a folder with your entire gamefile backup along with your mod folder.

Thanks for the info. Just did a search on my mods folder for WindrowerExt - no hits.

You wont find it via a search unless all your mods are unzipped.
But just have a savegame where you test new mods out.
Then you dont run the risk of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ your main save up if it might be causing issues.

But with mods like those roaming about deleting files, then theres nothing to do other than making regular backups of your files yourself.

I have key sticking issues only on stonevalley 22 (new update) I have tested my mods and mouse keyboard and controller on my wife's pc and she doesn't have this issue. I have slicked my pc reinstalled verified all files and still nothing.

How about you make a new thread about that specific problem, instead of hijacking?

The lines in the script date back to fs 15, we called it Death. lua.
Used to add them to private mods to send to those "modhunters" that wanted them for trading to make money over the backs of the modding community.
Bad thing is, you can add those lines to any working LUA file. Even make it delete the whole Farming sim folder in your My Games.
No real way to prevent it besides checking every lua or play on console as these mods would not make it on there.
But hey, at least its not bombing you with thousands of popup windows to a point your pc blue screens to its death.

Its Happened to me, I dont know which mod it was, but it has wiped everything plus all my thousands of other files. Trying to recover it is a nightmare.
Do you know which mod does it?

Anyone know where the autosave files are stored?

Auto saves and manual saves overwrite each other. They're not separate like in some games.

Your save files are in documents/mygames/farmingsimulator22.

To note, I keep auto save turned off and I also periodically back up my saves to a separate location.

There is only a few things you can do:
1 - dont download mods from shady site
2 - run a word search in any mod that has a lua script for "savegame" etc.
3 - make a daily backup of your FS22 folder just in case.
