I had this saved on my notepad, I believe this is what needs to be added to the .xml if the shader problem persists:
Add this line pos *= instanceData.w; to the terrainshader.xml right above the line return pos + instanceData.xy; and rezip the map file.

Have you ever played on a 4x map? Of course you can bale hay.
In my experience, I found that 4x and larger maps take longer to save and load up. I have a fairly decent computer, so YMMV
I am actually finding way less glitches and issues that I had on elm creek. I love the extra space to grow. I'm not sure I could ever go back to a 2x2km map.
Yes, I have played on several 4x maps and larger. Tedder functionality is hit or miss. (I have not played 4x since the last FS22 update - sp maybe I need to check again.)
Funny thing, after your post, I googled "fs22 4x tedder" to see if anyone else had your problem and maybe provide some insight, then I saw this thread from Giant's website:

I wonder if you're the 'cburgess' from that thread. Probably. I liked the part where the other poster posted a pic of him teddering grass on the same map you were having problems with.
Also turns out to be related to the OP using maize plus, but then doesnt know how tedders work with that mod
Agreed. you would think developers would of at least add a way to flip the roads like a toggle. this was what i was hoping for the previous games. just not enough american mappers.
