Sugar Beats
Strangest thing I have seen in FS 22 so far. After harvesting beat feed it indicated need plowing so I used a subsoiler, plowed it so to speak and at planting time using the Horsch Maestro but while planting the soil literally turned green as I planted it. Not like weeds not like first growth just a weird green covering. Further it indicated it needed weeding which I though after plowing wasn't required and pretty sure in past I didn't have to. Running the roller over didn't change anything in fact you could barley make out where you had plowed. I haven't gotten to first stage growth to fertilize it yet. Anybody seen this? I've had a couple of other weird things too kind of minor just ignored them but this was crazy. Did Giants do an update an mess some things up?

Sorry minor correction, I could barely see where I had run the roller over the field, not plowed.

Don't quote me on this, I could very well be wrong here:

If you plow with an actual plow, you get rid of the weeds AND "Needs plowing".
"Plowing" with Subsoiler only gets rid of the "Needs plowing" state as it's, technically, a cultivator tool.

Ground turning green sounds like a some sort of weird texture bug. Those tend to happen from time to time. Should be harmless if you can ignore the nuclear waste glowing through the topsoil of your field.. If it happens more often/on the other fields, it might be bugged out shader or mod conflict causing issues.

Thanks, I have always had texture issues develop in fields I think everyone does. Don't accidentally trample a crop because that spot will haunt you forever. Didn't realize that about the subsoiler per the description I thought it gave the same results as a plow.

Also, Also!
On the topic of Getting Confused by In-Game Descriptions:
Do not trust what they claim about Spaders.

They do not (or at least didn't use to) remove "Need plowing".
They are just really narrow, slow Power Harrows that dig up large stones.

oh ok, did like them because much faster, easier to operate and bigger. But it figures guess I'll have to buy back my plows I hate those things takes forever to plow a large sugar beat field.

yeah, happened to me while planting potatoes. Seems like a bug that was present in FS19 that the haulm always became stuck on that field.

The bug occurs when you use a disc harrow or a shallow cultivator (shallow cultivators are also mounted on most direct seed machines). If you use a normal cultivator the problem should not appear and the haulm-layer should disappear.

Sorry I said spader I meant subsoiler but they probably give the same results So I run the subsoiler through the field to meet plowing required then I picked rocks which also gives it some sort of state of cultivation first then I did replant with the direct sow planter so that does explain it. Month later and you can see the beets growing in rows but the field is still covered with that crazy green. Thanks.
