Bee Hive placement?

If I place a bee hive midway, off to the side of the field, will the bees be able to cover the entire field? I am asking because I am wondering if the bees just fly in a straight line from the hive or are they able fly at an angle from the hive?

I am pretty sure it makes no difference where you put them.

I could be way off here, but it is my understanding that a beehive will cover 150m radius from the hive.

looking at the files there are 5 levels (types of beehives) the smallest one covering 25m and the biggest one 150

And from what i understand, they give extra yeld only on flower crops, like canola or sunflowers.
