But when I tried to assign a helper to it, it wouldnt do anything until I ran along side of it with the trailer.
That's because you're meant to drive the tractor with trailer alongside it while it works. Otherwise it would just dump the crop. If you don't want to use the other harvesters with the crates, the Dewulf GBC holds 5500 litres but you have to stop harvesting before you can pipe out to a trailer.
Currently mad a bit, so now i as the customer/single player have to get follow me running for to be able to drive the harvesters on my own, that´s pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥.
I agree that Giants should have given more thought to this but that's their problem for as long as I can remember since I started with FS15, they rely on external mods too much. If I want to drive the new harvester myself I have to use follow me, if I don't want complete fools as helpers I have to use Courseplay. I don't even think they've thought about storage beyond crates for the new crops either.
There are some harvesters that are used with a tractor that fill up crates so it can be done with those in singleplayer but they have a 0.8 meter harvest width so it will take a long time to harvest a field with those.
I guess that's why I do cotton a lot.
Forage harvesters can hook up trailers, yes, but i somewhen found out how to add a bunker/tank to them so i changed that on my own and it simply feels comfortable - less realistic for sure - to use them that way.
Until then I will be using the box harvesters. I suck at running a chase wagon.
