Buying premium edition when you already have base game

Now there have been multiple posts about this in many places but here I am. Someone said in a post that they enabled people who already has the base game to still be able to buy the premium edition. However I am unable to do so even though people can. Anyone know any solution to this? Besides having a 2nd steam account and buying there or buying from 3rd party cd key websites or removing the game from account and buying (which Ive heard doesnt work anyway)

The fact that there is an issue like this in which people who bought the game early and supported giants' efforts early in the development by doing so are punished is simply painful to see. Ive always thought about giants as one of the best developers due to many reasons but this move moved them multiple steps below the ladder.

I own the game and both season passes and if I go to the activity feed and scroll down a bit I still have a option to "prepurchase" the premium edition ......might want to look there

But why do you need a premium edition when you have a base game? Just buy premium DLC.

if you own season 2 it comes with the premium edition

ya its confusing because season 1-2 cover it all except Pumps and hoses and a few truck and tractor dlc

Perhaps they want the DLC as well. The Premium Edition is $43 right, 63% off but if you own the base game you cannot take advantage of this.

The Season 1 and Season 2 passes are $40 each.

Unfortunately there is no way to get the Premium Edition if you own the game, it is for enticing new players to get the complete set at a discount.

The issue is premium edition gives base game (already have) + year 1 pass + year 2 pass which both years I dont have but want. Im not gonna buy dlcs individually when a pack can give me as I plan on buying all dlcs at some point anyway so buying year passes is better than getting premium expansion which is JUST the major dlc of year 2 pass (each year has 4 minor 1 major)

Maybe thats the case because you already have it. Also Ive went all the way to 2023 may in my activity feed but I couldnt find anything about it. I also play war thunder which posts a lot of stuff to activity feed so I mightve missed it while scrolling for 1h. If you know the date of the post can you tell me?
Im sure it will just let me put it in my cart and then in cart block purchase to self and allow for gift but its worth a try.
