New Content- Emergency Update. Why?

While I am not one to ever complain about free content updates, I cannot help but wonder what rescuing cats has to do with the simulation of farming activities. This emergency update appears to be bloatware destined to consume my precious disk space for something I do not expect to spend much time, if any, exploring when I pretend to farm. Would rather have you guys stay on topic with these, as you consistently have done in the past. I own about 40 or so games and FS22 is already #4 most disk space consumed among them. Maybe if these hardware manufacturers at some point develop a hard drive with infinite capacity this would not be such an issue for me, but to date I am unaware of any such invention. My disk remains burdened with limitation.

Some farmers in my area are part of the volunteer fire department and ones who aren't help out the firefighters by bringing water to fires with their own water trucks. A couple years ago in my community there was a farmer with a combine fire. He called the fire department but he also called the local hardware store. 2 employees at the hardware store grabbed all the fire extinguishers off the shelf and took off down the road 4 miles to where the farmer was and got his fire extinguished before the fire department showed up.

If a farmer was asked to get a cat out of a tree, He might bring a front end loader or a telehandler and ask someone to go in the bucket, but more likely he would just bring his chainsaw and cut down the tree.

As much as this is not my cup of tea, and I will probably not download it, I think it is a great idea. I would like to see it keep happening till one of them is my cup of tea. I will download that one.

Real farmers can't farm all the time. Where I grew up, they drove school busses.

The map I am playing on now(umrv) seems to be made with this mod in mind. If you wanted to roleplay as a firefighter, how could you not like 2 firehalls that can be entered and vehicles can be parked in.

I would welcome more mapmakers to add stuff to their maps to make me want to keep playing, and just not skip ahead to the next month, or skip winter and head on to spring.

Jobs out here for everyone. I am just worried about what the cats will do to my enviromental score.

The 2nd in command on my fire department has a farm at the same time and we both work super closely together for trainings and events and etc. It's incredibly realistic to have this and it's just fun to have. If it was forced i'd agree but having options is nice.

FYI it's a 3rd party mod, not made by Giants. So it's not any different than you downloading some ridiculous fantasy big monster truck mod to drive around in.

Also, it is FREE and OPTIONAL

In-other words Farming Simulator 23 or 24 will have it built in just like the Precision farming mod.

farming is not just crops and livestock, its community. i know a lot of farmers that are volunteer fireman.

Actually every farmer where I grew up had quite a large kitchen garden. Admittedly usually tended by their wives and or kids.

Precision farming was a mod made by giants with funding from some educational institutes, food group and JD. And it is still just a mod, not built into FS.

There's probably a market for that. There's sure are a lot of residential lawn mowers in the mod hub.

For real, i download every hand tools i find on the modhub and outside, building my "small lawn gardening" pack for when i'll find a very tiny map.
