New Content- Emergency Update. Why?
While I am not one to ever complain about free content updates, I cannot help but wonder what rescuing cats has to do with the simulation of farming activities. This emergency update appears to be bloatware destined to consume my precious disk space for something I do not expect to spend much time, if any, exploring when I pretend to farm. Would rather have you guys stay on topic with these, as you consistently have done in the past. I own about 40 or so games and FS22 is already #4 most disk space consumed among them. Maybe if these hardware manufacturers at some point develop a hard drive with infinite capacity this would not be such an issue for me, but to date I am unaware of any such invention. My disk remains burdened with limitation.

Also, it is FREE and OPTIONAL

Why not?
I see it like a new and different way to earn some fast cash.

Yes it is a new and different way to earn some fast cash. But it has nothing to do with farming...like I pointed out. And frankly, there are currently present so many different ways to earn some fast cash while farming that becoming a multi billionaire is already quite trivial even while playing with the hardest difficulty mode turned on.
That's why. If I had cats fertilizing my fields then maybe it would make more sense.

The Emergency pack is not downloaded unless you want to. (Fire gear clothing is not so as it was included in a patch).

It's not that uncommon in several countries where farmers and others who live further away from "large" cities act as voluntary firemen. So it can make sense from that point of view.

It's not mandatory and it gives more options, what's not to like about more options? The options given might not be what you want but it's there for those who want it. Almost everyone play FS differently, some focus on animals, some on crops. Some run nothing but forestry and some people do mining. I personally think doing some rescue work once every full moon might be a fun little side step when I'm waiting for the next harvest.

FREE! NOT mandatory! WTH are you complaining about?
And get a larger storage device. They're cheap.

Not complaining. Just wishing they did something else farming related is all. And urging them to do that instead.

This content was made by Creative Mesh, not Giants. It's a mod. Don't like it, don't use it.
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

How to tell you're not living outside metropolitan city area without saying so:
"Rescuing cats/clearing roads has nothing to do with farming."
Squint Nov 10, 2023 @ 6:28am
The patch is not optional. Why have a mandatory patch for a optional mod?

Yeah - he can't have many new-ish games in that list of 40.

This IS farming related if you live in a area like I did where you depended upon the local VOLUNTEER fire department to come to aid in field fires (controlled burns) or other emergencies. Very much farm related.
