I just got a Nordic FL stone collecting rake, job done. Bonus is I can turn the stones into a profit stream or production chain.
Please do not listen to those who just say 'turn it off'. Why they bother buying a "simulator" and just turn things off that they do not like is beyond me. It is all about the struggle! Oh...I don't like the other 11 months of a year that I can't just harvest. I know, I will just turn the 11 months off lmao!
There is a great guide regarding what and plows/cultivators do. I will post a link to the page as its on the devs farm academy page. Not all the plows/cults produce the same results. So buy the tool which suits your playing style. If you h8 stones then use a tool that doesn't produce stones at the expense of more weeds & vice versa.
I notice that there are a few peeps on here giving poor advice as they haven't bothered to do their homework or work in the Agri field.

Oh btw I tend to clear rocks straight after I plow/cultivate. Do not be afraid to slow time down if need be.
appriecaite the link ill be sure to have a look. There is one slightly frusterating part of the game.... but i tend to stay away from it... Potatos. So much work hahaha
It's not that unreasonable to turn Field Stone off for some of us. In the area I lived most of my life in we simply don't get a problem with stones in the fields (bar the occasional pebble) and I don't know any local farmers who own a stone picker as they'd have absolutely no use for it. Since I play almost exclusively on UK maps I refuse to have simulated stones appearing on land where they would not appear in real life.
And even where I live now in the north of Scotland where the fields are FULL of stones (and I mean it's like walking on the beach) the farmers around me do not use stone pickers, they just live with the stones.
Grew up on a farm and ranch and yes we had rocks in the fields but we never ran a stone picker. The only stone picker i ever saw was a 1950 model one that was a pile of rust and that was 30 years ago. What rock was there in the fields never did any real speakable damage anyway. I did bend a ripper shank sideways on a shelf of rock 2ft down once but that was about it. Sheer bolts do their jobs very well
Now if they would give me a Lime toggle that would be great because we dont have to lime where i grew up either, We have natural limestone rock that leaches enough into the ground already. If that wasnt enough you just had the fertilizer people mix you up a special cocktail of fertilizers to put out with your normal fertilizer application.
Giants gave you "their" version of a "farming simulator". Most farm areas are geologically different and Giants threw them all in a blender and spit out FS.
I did see a "No Lime" mod recently, I don't remember what it was called but i might be worth a search...
Precision Farming helps (a little) by adding Soil Maps but the range is still limited.
