But in the end, it may just boil down to "what you want is definitely overwhelming any existing hardware based on the state of the game's codebase". Just as an example, I would consider the night light simulation to look pretty awful - once you are too far away from any light source, it stops getting rendered at all, leaving the objects it illuminates in the dark. Or consider the mirrors at night: They are not dark, but show the landscape illuminated - because showing mirror content basically requires another landscape to be rendered per mirror, and because it is just a tiny detail, and players might not play at "game" night as much as "game" day, I can understand that proper rendering of mirrors at night is not the highest priority.
