Best way to cut and transport giant sequoia trees in Silverrun?
Basically want to know if there's a better method for a solo player than my current method of chopping it down with the chainsaw, then cutting it into about 5 or so segments, then dragging them one at a time across the road to my sawmill. It takes about 10m per tree, and is very demanding. So if there's better methods of getting these trees to the sawmill, I'd love to hear them

Get the lumberjack mod and use super strength

Give the Impex Hannibal T50 a try. It's a wonderful machine and will handle those big trees just fine.

Nope, does not fit around the trunk

Sequoia are not worth much and are hard to clear. I would recommend ignoring them or use something like the tree-b-gone mod to disappear the trees.

It makes more sense to clear cut another section of the map and replant than to deal with the sequoia trees.

And it makes not much sense when you get almost less wood than from spruces or pines, i mean sequoia are way bigger and tickier, they should give way more wood in reality.
One of the many oddities of FS.

I'm pretty sure in real life sequoia trees are illegal to cut down so that's probably why they aren't worthwhile to cut down in farm simulator.

It makes sense, but i'k talking in a pratical, not legally, way.
Objectively a bigger tree should definitely give more wood than the smaller ones.
I ended plant standard spruces as are the fastest to grow and they give an huge load of wood.

There is a mod called black market that makes the sequoias worth a lot more.

Ended up managing to convince the server host to add Lumberjack. Saves so much time. Also, I don't know if we have the Respositories mod or whatever it is, but the giant sequoias have been worth quite a bit from the start

If you want to move the sequoias around the map easier you can throw a bunch of them on the train.

Sequoia are worth more in a sense as products. put one 42.7 ton in the sawmill and got 42,734L of material out of it, put the same amount of any other tree and will still get the same amount of product, yet you lose less money with the sequoia cause the raw material cost less.

Youre not supposed to cut those down.

There is no negative to cutting them down. You also have the option to place them as well as plant more. If they where not meant to be cut down, then you should not be able to do so with the vanilla equipment.
