Multiplayer is disappointing

For the last while my multiplayer has only been showing between 18-25 games available for me to join. And my friends game is never one of them. If I put up my game my friend can't find my game either. It used to be difficult for me and my friend to join each others games and we had to go in and out of multiplayer multiple times to find each others games, but lately it's been impossible. Can anyone tell me if Farm Sim 19 is working better than Farm Sim 22? I might consider getting 19 if it works good.

I have pretty much all these games and I can say from my experience fs 22 is the worse game giants have made so far . This entire game has been disappointing for me and all but 1 of my buddies all the previous games work better than fs 22 . this game is focused on european farming not American Farming . We need a better company to make a "American farming simulation " .

It's called playing together with friends. In my case, I play with 2 others, we play the game, we talk, we plan, weird physics ♥♥♥♥ happens, and suddenly we are derailed trying to flip a tractor and full trailer right side up because we nicked an NPC car, or lifting our pickup truck onto the roof of our storage shed to knock down a bale that got up there while unloading the bale trailer.


As for getting a multiplayer game to actually show up on the list, it can be super frustrating. My best method is to wait until the person has fully loaded into their farm, and only then open the multiplayer section, and most of the time that works. I'm guessing the problem is how often the game refreshes it's search for games (not very often), and the fact that there seems to be absolutely no way to force it to refresh. Also make sure you search for the name of the farm, because it will only display so many farms.

Sadly I can't speak to older FS games because this is my first.

I don't like joining farms where the host wants me to do boring tasks either. Me and my friend usually just do a lot of goofing around with mods and trying out different maps.

One thing I noticed recently, was that a friend of mine & I tried the esports beta program. With this enabled we could play on his self-hosted server no problems, even though we didn't play the esports, since it got dull real fast. But, later I could not even see my other friends game displayed on the server listings. This was very odd since I had no issues shortly before this.

Ends up the esports was the issue. Once I removed it I could see my other friends server once again. And my first friend had to disable the esports from his game - even though he was hosting FS22 on his side. Esports blocked me from seeing his server until it was removed.

As to multiplayer being "boring". It indeed could get to be that way. My friends usually start a game, & I am the one who does terraforming, building placement, etc... While they run around doing things they like to do. One friend liked to play the role of truck driver, where he would haul things around the map. He also had heavy towing vehicle mods, which he used whenever equipment got stuck.

I absolutely love multiplayer, and prefer hard/realistic gameplay style (having to drive on roads, adhere to road rules, etc) but it's an absolute slog having to work on someone elses farm you don't know until you "earn" the right to have your own plot lol

Thank you for your comment, Esports might be the problem. I will try to uninstall it and see if my multiplayer works again
