Is there any way to start with less money?

I play on start from scratch and it gives me $500,000 and then I repay the loan which leaves me with around $350,000. Which honestly for me is too much money to start off with. I want to start off with around $10-20,000 and work my way up. Is there anyway to change this?

I have a mod from the in game modhub called Easy Development Controls. You can use it to set your money to whatever you want. Keep in mind this mod includes multiple ways to cheat so it's up to you to control yourself.

1) create new game, save and quit game
2) go to savegame file location and find the correct save
3) locate and open the "farms.xml" file with notepad
4) locate the following lines
<farms>
<farm farmId="1" name="My farm" color="1" loan="0.000000" money="996405.125000" loanAnnualInterestRate="200.000000">

5) change whatevery you want
6) save file
7) load savegame
