precision farming and fertilizer state?
With precision farming active, do the old blue fertilization states (2-3 shades of blue) just not exist anymore?

I'm still getting used to changes from FS19 and don't see the blue fert states I expected.

Yes, the blue fert states are removed. In the menu there's a tab for Precision Farming and in there you find all the info you need. Also being on foot on the field tells you in the bottom right corner how much fertilizer is applied and how much is needed.

I'd recommend joining the official Farming Simulator Discord, there's a lot of people there that can answer questions you might have!

Precision farming is not required tho, and outside of saving some seeds, herbicide and fertilizer, it affects almost nothing in the game.
Without the Precision Farming mod, FS22 vanilla game still mainteined the single and double applications of fertilizer/slurry.
Basically with PF it's one application of lime and one of fertiliser (when the crop is growing). But first you need to have a soil map for the field either by using a soil sampler yourself and sending the results to the lab or by simply buying the soil map for a selected field in thePF page.

t's also a good idea to use a crop sensor when spraying/spreading (I prefer to spray) fertiliser so that you get the amount of fertiliser adjusted for the needs of the crop (a crop sensor has cameras that image the crop and AI to workout its need for nitrogen). All of that maximises your "Eco Points" which can result in a nice bonus when you sell your harvest.

If you have weeds turned on you will also want to use the spot sprayer that comes with the PF DLC to spray them (saves money only spraying where needed and adds eco points).

Precision farming has the possibility of increasing yield to over the max 100% in the the base game depending on the soil type and the field prep

Also, a maximum environmental score increases profit by 15% (it also decreases profit with a bad environmental score)

yes in the theory according to the docs it should work like that

but for me the crop sensor does absolutely nothing.
The solid and liquid fertilizers are applied with perfect precision without any crop sensor too.
The manure spreading however doesn't apply with such precision also no matter with or without the crop sensor. So it looks like the crop sensor is basically unfunctional and no more then decoration.
