Trouble finding multi games and server issues

So I've purchased this game a couple weeks ago for my son, brother and I. We were able to play together fine for a while (son on Xbox, I on PC brother on PC) and in the last few days we can't find our games to join on the menu. We've checked the settings, tried searching for the game name repeatedly... no luck. Another issue occurred yesterday, we were able to locate the game on the list from the Xbox, however, I was never prompted to allow the player to join the farm... no matter how many times we restarted the game/console.

We purchased a server to rent today to see if this would remedy any of these issues, however, the server says it's online but again... it's not showing up... this game is amazing when it works and we have a lot of fun... but so far extremely disappointed. With that said it could be something we're doing wrong, any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

When using a dedicated server, you need to tick the Crossplay box.
But i doubt its gonna help much, as theres of late has been a lot of post with issue regarding crossplay and servers not showing up for one or the other when doing crossplay.

Sure, they dont have the best server browser, and sometimes it seems to get worse with the updates. But atleast we CAN find servers when its not crossplay.

But, yeah, i feel your pain with this. But youre far from the only one with this issue, sadly

Ah I see. Yeah it’s crossplay, although a majority of it will be PC to PC… we’ll throw my young son in there on Xbox if and when it works… I appreciate the response. Very new to FS

Yeah, it sucks they cant seem to fix it, seems to have gone really bad with the last patch, if not one prior too.

Does your son "join" you often?

Eh he’s 4 so you know it’s just kinda fun for him to drive a side by side around while I farm… my brother does however play when we have the time. He lives out of town so it’s a good way to connect

Okay. I know its not optimal, but would it work if you had it as a non-crossplay server when its just you and your brother whos playing? That should fix the server not showing.
And then just make it for the periode when your son is joining?
