Personally, it was a new feature of the game I was looking forward to; Loading them up and the (potential) logistics seemed interesting.
They're not a vital part of the game, but along with the stones and jackhammers, and the winches that was introduced, they are perhaps signs that Giants will do the bare minimum when introducing new features. I came into the series with FS17 and continued with FS19 and FS22, and I gotta say, I've been hoping for some more improvements between the titles than what I got.
Perhaps for some, the container feature becomes the final drop in a glass of disappointments that shoves them over the edge of "losing the passion for the game"..
you might be able to get some in , you would never ever be able to get log out of them.
there are open containers that would be used for long items , but hey okay it's a game.
i tried out the containers , yep done that but it's lacking so so so much
where is the container loader ? a bulldozer frontloader would never be able to even lift a fully loaded container.
where ers the proper trailers container trailers ? ,,, there is a mod tho it has the loader / trailer and all typed of containers.
problem is that the mod works but the containers are not accepted by giant container terminal.
so i don't use containers now at all.
they rip away my immersion at the moment but there are more giant add ons that they didn't really Finnish or flushed out
"pumps and hoses " for instance , better to be called a "hose and one pump"
because the rest ain't thought about.
Again, ive never used the containers and not really done much logging at all due to the horrible ♥♥♥♥♥♥ physics in this game. So i cant say how much of a downer they are, but it sounds like a lot.
I dont think things are ever gonna change before someone starts making another farming game that can rival Giants and give them the massive kick in the nuts they need to start improving things.
But i doubt thats gonna happen any time soon, if ever, sadly.
lol, thanks for sharing this perspective. We're pretty much on the same page it seems like, although I've always enjoyed logging (w/wonky physics) the most in FS.
I downloaded Cattle & Crops again after reading @Tankfriend's message about sticking to crop farming; I just remember that game as being far more interesting at this part, and had to check if I recalled it correctly..
-And I gotta say, seeing the tractor sink into the field and leave deep tire marks is satisfying.
-But the system for the fields, the field info, how each layer of the soil reacts to the work you do, makes the whole thing so much more interesting compared to what I've seen in FS imo.. I think it's impressive! Tools have stats linked to how effective they are at each layer of the soil, so there are more reasons to pick one tool over another, or own two similar tools with different capabilities. (I think precision farming mod touches on some of this, but I haven't tried farming much in FS22 and 19.)
Too bad C&C got abandoned. I think the game is good as an EA title, but it has a weird system for tutorials/career iirc. Will definitely be years until FS gets any real competition again, if ever..
Is there actually a mod that does that? Autoload AND manual load? Lets say I load something onto a trailer manually, for it to then snap into place? Part the gameplay (at least for me) is the loading to trailers part. And I never wanted to use the autoload scripts that just loads everything onto a trailer when you drive by it. But having something snap into place whenever I load it onto the trailer would be much better. And much less of a hassle with the physics of the trailer.
