Anyone else a bit disappointed by the container feature?
Was looking forward to the challenge of loading a container with logs, but everything snaps into place and there's no physics involved.. The containers themselves also snap into place when placed on the low loader, and only a wheel loader can remove them again, if they're not sold. I expected a bit more freedom..

It's the most effective and quickest way to load logs, and the container warehouse also pays the most. Containers basically feels like giant and effective wood chippers. I don't like seeing a single log disappear and then being turned into three different logs once it touches the air inside the container... Loading a conventional log trailer with the same amount of logs would take me twice the time, at least. Probably way more. I think containers should've been payed less to balance this.

I don't feel like they fit well with how the rest of the game works. I played Construction Simulator for eight hours before getting tired of everything snapping into place there. Loading a wheel loader onto a trailer? It snaps into place where the developers intended it to be strapped down, instead of where you actually placed it. It's the sole reason why I started playing FS22 again, after buying it a year ago; the freedom and creativity you get when loading and placing stuff, makes FS seem like a 10/10 game when compared to CS..

Either way, I guess the logs would've started to shake frantically if you could load enough of them into the container the conventional way. Hope to see some mods that can solve the snapping of the containers though, and perhaps have the players manually lock them down instead. I've also seen trailers irl that can unload containers themselves, kinda like side ways small cranes at each end of the container.. would be cool seeing some of these in the mod site too!

Well, just wanted to air out some frustration I guess, and perhaps hear some of you guys' perspective on this.

Personally consider this a good thing and actually would want to see more of these autoload features introduced by default. There's a reason autoload scripts are among the earliest mods released for every game in the series since they first dropped. And that reason is they make the buggy physics of forks, grabbers, and tension belts unnecessary, and are also way more comfortable and time-efficient than handling everything manually.

Ideally, I'd want both autoload and manual load as options for everything.

It's a physic thing, it's way less costly a reference model inside the container than actual logs shaking.
Remember when you load too much pallets on a truck and the game drop frames?

Glad you like it! I've seen the Auto-load mod(s) is very popular. I enjoy operating the machines, especially after rebinding my controller to simulate dual joysticks, so I'm having a lot of fun loading logs and pallets with the Volvo w/grapple and cutting trees with the Hannibal wood harvester. I guess the auto-load removes what I consider the fun parts about the game. Hopefully they'll offer both options in the future.

Since you use autoload, what parts of the game do you have the most fun with?

I'm starting to realize that I'm in a small boat when it comes to the container autoload, just like I apparently am with CS; gets 90% positive reviews, but for me, the "snapping into place" of literally everything from holes you dig to pallets you place, makes it seem like the finished work at any step of the process, is not of my own creation but the developers'.

Yeah, I kinda came to this conclusion as well when getting to the end of my post. I can barely load the low loader full of pallets without it starting to shake like crazy! :)
Do you prefer the autoload btw?

Grapples are so bad still they literally have no power like a real grapple logs get loose so easy or it breaks if you try to properly grab things sometimes

Pretty much the actual crop farming. Least bit of wonky physics involved.

I have to say....I am enjoying the loading of product at old sawmill using the forklift. Seems like the physics have improved greatly. Same with physics of logs. I haven't
used any autoload expect for a few containers earlier on.

I kind of like them! I'm a bit disappointed that they only take logs, though. Would be nice to have containers take pallets and such as well, for ease of selling, and improved FPS.

I thought the same at first, then i tried to use the forklift with the greenhouses, and the pallets still fly everywere if you try to stack two.

Oh really? Didn’t know that. I have only moved the products at old sawmill.

I wonder why they didn’t fix all pallets?

The sawmill it's a pleasure to load a truck with a forklift, i can easily stack 2 or 3 pallets over each other, but god forbid stacking strawberries.

I use an hemp mod and it have great pallets stack, i can move (98% of the time) 2/3 stacking pallets, if you're lucky and slow, you can even go 4.

Maybe they revisited the new product pallets but forgot the old, or they simply doesn't care, they always acted like that, like trees and logs.

I'm happy for those of you who like it.. Bit disappointed that so many of you do, but still :)

Did any of you imagine the containers would be auto-loaded when looking at the videos and screenshots before buying? I'll avoid using them in from now on, but I kinda feel like I paid for something I didn't get.

I guess it really doesn't matter that much. I mean, there's not much physics involved when selling logs or anything else either, it all just disappears in thin air anyways when I come to think of it. (I guess the train and the old sawmill kinda simulates it a bit better, even though I've had problems when the train's been throwing pallets off at the boarder when leaving the map..)

Some more frustration:
I was comparing prices between the containers, but managed to to load a log that was too short right as the 12m container was nearly full. No way of correcting this mistake and could only sell the container at a reduced price as the only option. I also don't like that you buy and get containers at the shop, instead of at the container warehouse.

Would be cool having a skid-steer with all its tools loaded inside a container. Would be a nice way of transporting it between claims and keeping the areas tidy at the same time. Could work as a personal garage. I just think we're missing out on so much fun and different uses by not having them work in the same way the rest of the game does. I'm crossing fingers that there's a modder out there that feels the same way I do..

Yeah, would be nice if they could be stacked full of pallets, or with anything else for that matter. Guessing it won't be long until there's a mod for containers with auto-loading of pallets though..

Yesss, I agree how you think completely ! I just tested containers, after a short while
I lost the passion for the game.....

The container feature is a bit depressing for those of us who expected something "different".. :P
How do you like 'em?

Comforting to know I'm no longer alone in our small boat, but I wish we had met under different circumstances.. :)
Hopefully you'll find back some passion for the game, as there's a lot of other stuff that's good about it. Perhaps avoid the containers until we, hopefully, get some working mods for them.

Never used them. And if i didnt like them, i wouldnt use them. Simple as that :)
They arent a vital part of the game, so i cant see the "lost passion for the game" point.
