Kind of and kind of not. Like the vehicles that say they are manual, but you have automatic selected in the settings, so it shifts for you (you can still up or downshift yourself or change gear ranges) it will be sometimes wonky, just because of the weight of things, how much power they are using, it's trying to keep the vehicle in it's power band. I think it's doing a pretty good job all things considering.
Automatic gears on manual vehicles it's simply badly implemented.
Actual automatic vehicles run pretty well instead.
