But as Andy points out, what i might find good, you might hate.
I'll go:
Top3
Map: Rennebu, Norway. A realistic creation of a long valley in Norway. A lot of the buildings are custom created and placed where they are located in real life. I was surprised to find that more than one building was looking exactly the same as in google.maps. I haven't found a map that gives the same sense (and challenge) of being up in steep mountain sides when logging, the view of the valley is beautiful when up here, and it really reminds me of the valley I live in not far from where it's located. 9/10, as traffic is a bit janky. (I'm using the Remove traffic mod on this map only). I still play on this map as main even after Plat edition, 80+hours in.
Mod: Vehicle Control Addon by Mogli12, can be found in the in-game mod page. I use the Xbox analogue controller and find that "free-steering" and "keep throttle" are settings that adds realism and gives me a lot of control of the different vehicles, while at the same time having the options to apply different settings to different vehicles. This also prevents wheel loaders and wood harvesters from snapping back to centre when letting go of the joystick. 10/10, won't play without it.
Wood Harvester Controls by BargonMods, have to be downloaded from github.
To start with I used this mod only to be able to drop the logs I picked up with the harvesters, but I've gradually added more and more bindings; Cut on a single button, feed tree forward and backwards on left and right d-pad, feed slow by RB+d-pad, feed to computer length with d-pad down. Options to have open/close on the same button, same for cut/feed, makes it great for xbox/ps controllers! It also uses the realistic bucking system, where the logs are fed to certain (adjustable) lengths according to diameter. -10/10 mod and would never play without it, or the options this provides.
Tajfun EGV 80 AHK by 50keda. Sold this and bought the Platinum DLC winch and was so disappointed.. Great example on a mod that does something better that what Giants added later; Modded shows you the length you have left on the winch, and it doesn't snap back to the tractor if you change your mind on which log to attach first (making you run all the way back to the tractor to pick it up again). Was hoping with the Giants' highlighted winch wire, that you could go around and use trees as pulley points to switch directions without moving the tractor, but I don't get why the winch is even highlighted when it snaps straight as soon as you attach it, or snaps back to the tractor if you let go. Would be awesome if if would stay on the ground and you could pick it up again when close to the length of the wire.
Honorable mentions: Increase Light Range mod(Why isn't fixed since FS17 and FS19 Giants?), the Real Dirt and REA22 mods, Lease To Own, Additional Currencies, Disable Auto Motor Stop, and Manual Attach. Lot of good vehicles and machines as well..
I use about 150-170 mods.
