If you are still having problems check out on YouTube for a vid there are plenty.
Very frustrating as I was really enjoying using it. Anyone else having the same issue?
Is this the yarder? What I've found when pulling logs that are laying somewhat upwards with the terrain, if you attach the winch to the bottom end of several logs they will detach. Attaching at the top end, the highest point of the log works more often. I also had some problems with longer logs it seemed, but that was before I started attaching the top part and not the bottom. I'm using 7.5m logs now and it works fine as long as I don't attach the bottom bit.
I'm playing on a controller and have to hold RB/R1 and then press A/X to attach logs with the yarder. Don't know if this is/was your issue?
Ive tried a new save with no mods and still same issue. When i stated out i was using it lots and was moving huge whole trees up to 2.8T and now i cant.
Are you doing this on flat ground or in a hill?
Edit: If I was unclear in my previous comment;
Attach the winch to the end of the log that is laying at the highest point of the terrain.
(I've tested this multiple times, it's not 100%, but waaay better than attaching it in the opposite end)
f you've tried this and it doesn't work, I'd recommend reporting it to Giants as a bug, see the pinned message in discussions.. Should be done either way I guess, as it's a buggy behaviour..
