Swathers

I've been playing FS for a long time over different consoles, and I've been farming and ranching most my life, but it always bothered me that the game has never implemented a swather. Down here in the western states its on of the most used pieces of equipment for cutting grass hay, alfalfa, and a variety of other things. Any Developer Knowledge on this?

I'm guessing that is windrower that cuts as well? Not known to me in the UK. I guess the closest you will find in game (well, a mod) is the Vicon Extra 7100T which will leave a swathe.

I think there is a John Deere mod in the mod hub. I recently saw some videos on swathing and wondered the same thing for FS22. Then i saw the mod somewhere.

I'd not seen that but now you mention it there is also the Krone Big M which is sort of the same thing?

Yah that Deere 2280 is the only mod ive ever seen kickin around like a swather.

Ive always wondered, It would add to the realism with Canola. Most of it in Western Canada, not sure about the states, is swathed then combined using a pick up header, would make for a cool script mod.

My wife grew up on a big grain farm in North Dakota in the 60s and 70s, and every new version of FS she always asks me, "Do they have swathers yet?" When each row is one mile long you don't want to have to make extra passes.

I guess a loading wagon could be used in canola. I have a few canola fields getting ready for harvest. Perhaps I will try and used this swather and loading wagon. I don’t think there’s a pickup header.

In real life is a swather that much different than a forage harvester. They basically do same thing….no?

Not really, a swather just cuts it into windrows or "swaths", kinda like that john deer mod.

That John Deere swather I mentioned earlier is only for grass. No use for me as my mowers do that just fine.

I was hoping the John Deere would work with canola. Oh well.

i guess i could give it a try, just wish we could bring it to the devs to add at some point ya know

They're adding like 2-3 new features every game, so it might come in one of the games updates.
