Why is this question mark here?
So I see this glowing question mark and, being curious, I walk up to it and decide to interact. It takes me to a help screen where, hidden amongst an array of screen shots, there are two short sentences briefly and obscurely mentioning all the wonderful things it is possible to achieve to enhance your farm using the Build Menu. It does not say a single word about where the build menu is located, or how to access the build menu.

Immediately I was left wondering the point of putting this absolutely useless garbage into the game. I will probably never again interact with a question mark because of my experience with this first one I encountered. I see another one over there, but Ima gonna pass on it cuz I reckon it isn't any better and will likewise only serve to also waste my game time.

The help system in this game is astoundingly substandard. It evidently takes the approach that every screen shot is worth a thousand words of actual helpful text accompanying it, because every help page you call up looks exactly the same. Screen shots all over the place and terse lines of unhelpful hope dispersed between them. No procedures explained. No key commands saying how to navigate around. Just hopeful text about what is possible and not a word about how or where or when to do it. Even right off the bat at the main menu you get this dancing box about "The FS22 Training Academy...learn how to play!" Which has a wonderfully produced video all about the Academy. As near as I can tell, they have wasted time producing a video that doesn't show a single thing about training or how to play, rather it's simply a hype video for a page with a list of hyperlinks on it. They could have spent that time producing an actual training video, but no, they chose to hype a page of links to these pointless uninformative screen shot galleries instead. Someone in management over there at Giants needs to be replaced or better trained...

Yes, the manual helps some but not enough for a new player. I hope venting your frustration makes you feel better.

Often the next step is to seek help on youtube videos but then you come across 30 minute long videos to explain some simple question you had... "which is the best tool for XYZ job? Let me spend 30 minutes showing you tests and what not instead of showing results and telling you straight!"

Hey, just be glad there are folks out there making vids to show you stuff you don't know, ok sometimes it takes a while to find the actual answer but thats what fast-foward is for :steamsunny:

I know pretty much how to play from FS19. Just not all the differences and extras they added in yet. But the help system looks to me barely changed if at all. I'm just disappointed that zero attention was paid to it. Not even a section in there describing the differences from FS19 that you need to know. If it wasn't for the community content out there this game would be seriously difficult to figure out how to do anything. Every mechanic has some caveat you gotta deal with as it is. And then you see them do all these awesome trailers regularly and wonder why none of the tutorials have that.
