Why use a packomat with a plough?
Please could someone explain why i would add a packomat to my plough. Does it improve yield? I cant see any point of owning this?

From the company website: The Packomat® is an integrated soil packer which is directly coupled to the plough. ... By applying a pressure of 1.000 kg, the wedge-shaped discs cut their way through the furrows, crush clods, push down stones, level and pack the soil. This ensures a quick re-establishment of the capillarity water conductivity.

In terms of gameplay I'm pretty sure it's cosmetic, which is why they cost nothing as addons. They certainly don't push down stones, I've checked. All they seem to do is leave a texture of level soil rather than plowed soil.

Thank you for your reply, i had to £8000 to have it added to a plough in the base game and other than level out the field, easier to drive on, this was the only benefit i could see along with the cosmetic you mentioned.

Actually I was wrong, it's not cosmetic, it applies the "seedbed" status to the soil, something you can see in the filters on the map screen. I'm not entirely sure what it is but apparently it improves yield, and it's something you can achieve with other tools as well.

but how to deactivate the 2nd back packer?

You can only deactivate both or none. If you have them but don't like them you can take the plow back to the shop and have them removed for free.
